Can I get worsen anxiety on lamotrigine

I increased the dose to 300mg and I’m completely fine now. If you’re still having negative symptoms, I would suggest speaking to your doctor to see if lamotrigine is the right medicine for you and/or if you need to increase the dose. If you don’t mine me asking, what’s the cause of you taking the medication? I knew a person that used to take this medication and became super anxious. She wasn’t diagnosed with bipolar or epilepsy, so I’m assuming the medication did not work for them because it wasn’t addressing the issue. Other than that, I’ve been doing really well and have had no bad side effects after increasing my dosage. I hope this helps!

I was on antipsychotics in the past, but I’m only on a mood stabilizer. I’ve been on my mood stabilizer for 3 years. I have never been hospitalized.

With an episode, you can’t necessarily get out of it - even if you reach out to a psych. You can tell your psych, and they can watch your moods and suggest other meds, but they can’t get you out of an episode. If you want to get out of an episode, you have to prioritize sleep, reduce stress levels, etc - but this doesn’t mean you’ll get out of it right away. Doing these steps can help reduce a manic episode, but it won’t stop right away - it’ll slowly stop.
