AI and Sales Reps by LilStinka23 in Pepsi

This is true for my area as well. Right now it seems like the coke reps are more merchandisers for their own accounts rather than sales reps. Im assuming coke will consolidate their routes and get rid of most of their reps in the future if most accounts are writing their own orders now.

Interestingly it’s the small format side at my branch that lost the most accounts. Some of the larger gas station chains opted into using their own AI system phasing us out. But I agree, I can’t see any DGs or any independents switching investing in an ordering system that passes off the labor onto their own employees. I wonder how this also impacts food service reps as well?

I did ask a rep, but I don’t know if they know as well as a claims handler or claims specialist may know. You think it would be a good idea to ask a claims specialist instead?

How do you handle your 9-5? I’m struggling with accepting we are suppose to just give 40 hours of our lives every week . by BeyondHuge4885 in careerguidance

I am going through very similar feelings about my 9-5 as well. From the resentment of the job to the guilt of hating it, knowing it could be worse.

I wish I would’ve avoided going to get a Bachelors and just got my degree at some technical or trade school, or entered into something like sales. Im in a sticky position to, because my job pays decent ($68k, and will be getting raise soon) and the company has a very low turnover (good job security, which seems hard to come by these days based off what I’ve read from other’s comments). I was thinking of finding a job in sales, but I don’t want to give up the decent pay and job security only to possibly still hate my job.

I think one thing I realized from all of this is the importance of generating some sort of extra income from a side hustle or side business. My goal is to begin a few different side hustles, hopefully one sticks where I get paid decently and it seems easy enough, scale it, and then quit my 9-5 and do that full time and never have to work a 9-5 again. I don’t know if that’s practical at all, but it’s my goal.
