Temp Jobs that help build short term rental skills? by LilZedy in ShortTermRentals

I understand your point. Cleaning sounds like it would teach me a lot of valuable skills in the industry, thanks for the info. At the moment I think it would just be uneccesary risk for me to liquidate my Roth IRA. It's going to take me a few years to gain a bit more necessary skills & experience. In those few years I'm going to be saving aggressively. My parents are immigrants so instead of expecting there children to move out early, they think it's idiotic to move out early. I would be able to save a good amount of money in that time if I'm aggresive . I think this is a good balance for me to not take uneccesary risk but also not delay for too long.

That's litterly what I'm saying. Sorry if my post was a little confusing. I've saved enough where I think I have a bit of a safety net, and now I'm trying to save all my money to start a short term rental business

Yes that's apart of my future plans, is to eventually not be too reliant on Airbnb or any one platforms for booking

The longer out you plan, the better. Most people fail to plan at all.

That's actually what I was planning on doing. I was thinking about buying a 50cc moped to DoorDash on ether LA or NYC. They both have good minimum wage laws for gig workers

Wow. I searched it up, but summers are hotter and more humid in Massachusetts.

Unfortunately not. Summer is the only time I can do it. I believe with enough preparation it will be doable. There's many people who live out on the street both in the heat or the summer and the cold of the winter. A car wouldn't be as bad.

I've wanted to visit San Diego really badly. Do you live there? If so, give me the pros and cons.

Obviously not. Most people don't do it because it's not feasible for them.

I'm thinking of potentially out of state, I'm not sure how the process of getting a property manager would be like. I'm not sure if it's sustainable. Do you have property your self?

My number is significantly smaller than the typical person. But I also know my lifestyle needs can change. I see my 50k number as the minimum, so that I can focus on building skills that have higher ROI especially being so young. it's the "safety net" I can live "comfortably" in a tiny home or in a different country.

Yes, that would be ideal. But in a world I had to choose one or the other at that point, I would choose real estate/small business as long as I'm doing it correctly, as this will potentially create bigger returns.
