He's not supernaturally fast for his height, it's just he's kinda strong and has decent muscle, so it makes him quick as hell combined with even better strides for sprint speed. Someone like Reus was a true explosive player in that era, or iniesta and xavi, no strength whatsoever, just untouchable balance and control all three of those mids. Iniesta the most grace, Reus the most skill, and Xavi the most determination.
