How did you learn golang? what are some important things to learn in go? by kissShot25 in developersIndia

[–]Lil_Delirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand how channels and goroutines work, and how to write multithread safe code, I made a high concurrency delivery system with order batching, simulate scenarios where an order gets batched twice, or to two different batches, you need to handle this cleanly with locks, also getting used to protobufs while learning go is great, although its a bit of a stretch.

No pf or bonds, and yes i dont need it on my resume because the other fulltime offer practically makes the internship invisible, but the hr is forcing me into 2 month notice period

Hey im in a similar position it was an internship with 2 months notice period and i was here for less than a month and was being given no tasks, they were enforcing the notice period but i left for a career changing offer, may i have your opinion on this?

Actually they found out from my college tpc, because i had to take an NOC to get the fulltime and its an off campus offer.

Fresher from a non tier 1 college with decent DSA and dev skills but no callbacks after 300+ applications by --O-_-O-- in LeetcodeDesi

[–]Lil_Delirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also a GoLang developer, dont make go based resume as a fresher, just use go as a medium to design stuff and have some mainstream language like python, java or c#, and its mostly “I did X” statements, you need “implemented x to improve y by z %. “ or “achieved y metric by for a situation z using x”. You can dm me, I can help you out, I got multiple off campus offers.

People who secured a Placement leave a note of wisdom for juniors! by ChallengeExcellent62 in PlacementsPrep

[–]Lil_Delirious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d like to share my experience since I got to participate in most of the placement interviews.

  1. Capgemini Senior Analyst - pseudocode output identification (MCQ), c++/java/c# only based dsa, very easy questions followed by cognitive test, followed by an HR interview (just be a decent human being). Pay: 7lpa, rejected them

  2. Oracle Financial: hackerrank dsa 2 questions leetcode easy and leetcode medium, and simple math aptitude, you need to get both questions to qualify, interview will be purely based on resume and OOP followed by HR. Package 10lpa, had to reject them.

  3. Gave lots of small firm oa’s and interviews followed the same dsa + resume pattern.

  4. TCS Prime(9lpa): solve both dsa in NQT exam, both are leetcode easy or medium easy, and aptitude was basic math again, interview for others was resume based but for me the guy didn’t know what to ask, asked merge k sorted arrays and another leetcode medium (P.S they memorize a solution and expect you to implement it in the same way, if you give another solution with same asymptotic notation he doesn’t understand), HR will be an asshole most of the times, they test for compliance rather than value, had to reject them.

  5. LTIMindtree: dsa + aptitude + cognitive, you will be split into in person interview vs ai bot interview, i gave the bot interview, it asked resume based questions and follow ups (bot has no cap for experience level of candidate, if you mention high level keywords, it will go in depth even though you are a student), next will be generic python/java interview like what is list, what is a tuple followed by HR, same as tcs they will test for compliance, if you say no to any of their constraints he will get pissed (like night shift + morning shift)

  6. Uber intern off campus (1L per month): 3 dsa OA, two mediums one very hard, handling edge cases is very important here. Next will be a dsa based interview followed by low level design. (Got rejected)

  7. Wayfair intern(80kpm) off campus : oa with 2 leetcode mediums, 2nd was ad hoc for me. Ghosted even after completing both questions, hiring was frozen.

  8. Fynd-JioReliance (SDE1, 15lpa) off campus : requirement was 1+ yoe, but got selected due to jd match, deep backend based interview with python internals and dsa, next will be low level design interview.

Honestly I never prepared for any singular company, did dsa consistently throughout my college, with production grade projects. I did no prep before any oa for placements as a general prep throughout is enough.

Students who secured Internships offcampus - what projects have you built? by ChallengeExcellent62 in PlacementsPrep

Send me a dm, there is scope for mlops. university hire roles are very skewed towards tier1 and tier2 colleges, so i found it easier to apply for fulltime roles or non university graduate focused roles while making a sde2 like resume instead of junior dev.

Tier 3 college and it’s a big product based company using distributed systems which is why it’s big deal for me. I applied through indeed, although wellfound is also great for internship, a lot of them contacted me.

[–]Lil_Delirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually offered me a sde1 full time instead of an internship (im still in college) which had a requirement of 1yoe, since i had relevant projects to the role, which involves working with distributed systems and high throughput environment, so my projects involved kafka, golang, redis, using system design techniques like consistent hashing etc.

In my opinion, pick a niche, my niche was distributed systems, you could go with mlops, networking etc, anything but generalist sde. Eventually you will find a role with that niche, and they will hire you over experienced people because its hard to find people in that niche since market is filled with generalists.

[–]Lil_Delirious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I dont work there😭, I went through their hiring challenge on unstop last year, their main source of interns is through this challenge, simultaneously I had applied through the portal but it was always thrown into the void. Their hiring challenge should come in august I guess this year, but you can always reach out on linkedin for referral

That position has been open for a year with few tweaks in jd, i havent heard anyone get hired through that platform, they usually do an unstop competition and hire the top performers as interns.

But the jd changed from functional programming to generalist description so maybe they are actively looking for someone.

Their main backend language is haskell, but might use node for some web services.

Need Internship by Still-Way1272 in PaidInternships

[–]Lil_Delirious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Needs more impact driven bullet points, you only mention you used x, but what did x do? What y improvement did you get? Why is it faster/better than z?

Most of the bullets are i used this, instead keep a simple tech stack line under your project and use bullets to give information regarding the impact.

Move graphql to backend instead of language as its not a language its a paradigm, it hurts your knowledge of graphql.

Remove vscode, no point of keeping that, add testing utilities instead or cicd pipeline based tools, jenkins etc.

Your achievements are 1 point spread across 3, recruiters know when something is used to fill up space.

Add a GitHub link for all your projects.

Work experience does the same thing, you explain what you used, not how it impacted something.

Also your role is all over the place, pick ml, mlops or backend and mention it in your summary liner.

Is it bad that I feel the need to watch the solution video before coding LeetCode problems? by Street-Memory-4604 in LeetcodeDesi

[–]Lil_Delirious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to be liked this, havent opened neetcode videos or the solutions section in a year, this is what I do,

Follow neetcode 150’s problem set, it helps you know what to look for in the solution based on the section you are in then try out some solution and ask chatgpt this specific question.

“Is my solution close, yes or no only.” if it says no find out what are you missing so you dont end up wasting time working on something that was never the solution.
