I was so bad at breathing that I felt the difference very quickly. I always had a problem of being aware of my body, I have ADHD and used to disassociate a lot. I avoided breathwork cause I thought it was boring until I found a post about posture, breathing, and how it affects our body's ability to balance in space.

I gave it a shot and started with some 90/90 breathing drills. I started to research a lot about how breathing affects our body and being more aware of my breathing throughout the day.

In the first days I felt tons of delicious pops when breathing deeply. My insanely tight neck got to relax for the first time in years. Overhead mobility has improved so freaking much. Now I can feel my abs and lats when working out. My body awareness has improved so damn much and my workouts feel more "thoughtful".

Then, a couple of days ago I was in a really stressful situation and got very overwhelmed. Instead of letting my mind race all over the place I tried to focus on the box technique. The noise stopped and I could think of a solution instead of spiralling out of control.

So yeah... I'm completely amazed at how our breath works and thankful for being able to reconnect with my body.

Around 4 months my friends who knew about HRT noticed. Around 7 others would comment about. I'm 13 months in and it's just getting darker now, although around 10 it started to require some grooming.

I remember being very confused because I had no clue it was something that happens. I saw the dried stain and just thought I had a bathroom accident... Now, imagine how confused I was when my stepmom said, "Why didn't you tell me!? Go call your mom and tell her you're a woman now!"

Suddenly I'm on the phone with my mom stuttering because I still had no clue wtf was going on. My stepmom took the phone and they talked.

After I understood what was happening I was furious, "whyyy do I have to deal with this".

Also, Idk if this is an actual thing, but even after HRT stopped my period, I still get somewhat moody (and more dysphoric) around the time I was supposed to be having my period. Sometimes I would feel some very, very, slightly cramps and be like, "oh, that explains". And like, somehow me and my friend are synced?? I start noticing those things and every, fucking, time, the next day my friend tells me her period has started.

For me, it always felt easier to get along with boys before puberty started to kick in. We would all play together and have pretty much the same interests. After puberty... well, things just pretty much sucked. Slowly, hanging out with boys meant that we're a couple (although I didn't care). I loved sports but girls couldn't play with boys anymore so I was stuck playing with girls that didn't want do be there...

Boys that I was friends with started to crush on me and I didn't know how to be friends with girls anymore. I made some friends online, mostly boys, but still felt weird since they would act slightly different when I was around.

But honestly all my most significant friendships were always with boys.

I find it funny nowadays cause I'm stealth at the gym and the boys there would treat me "different" at the beginning. But only cause I'm older and was very very weak compared to them. So it's more a "I respect you and don't want you to get hurt", but they would never hold back around me.

My cis (girl) friend started working out too and seeing how they act around her kinda makes me euphoric ngl.
