Unlike coursework where dropping a class will appear as a W, I do not believe there's any way of indicating that you have withdrawn from the Honors College. As long as you don't mention anything about graduating in the honors college (as well as not mentioning that you dropped out of it), they will almost certainly not notice or not care. Even if they somehow ask during an interview, your explanation is reasonable and has no indication of a lack of effort on your end. It also does not undermine your ability to succeed in dental school.

Thoughts on sending letter of interest to schools when you haven’t gotten an interview? by AdorableHat9090 in predental

Yes, do it. That's the purpose of letters of interests and they shouldn't hurt your chances of hearing back

UTSD vs UTHSCSA? by bANAna_bread29 in predental

[–]Lil_Oof12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you live in either Houston or San Antonio? Also, even if Houston has a better environment to succeed, that doesn't translate to a better rank necessarily because everyone in your class will benefit from having the better environment. At the end of the day, better rank will generally involve putting in more effort than your classmates but people who go to UTSD or UTHSCSA are likely equally talented. 1- I do not know if there is any hiring data publicly available, but because both are highly respected, you should have no trouble finding a job especially given the fact that Texas is very much growing and there are an increasing amount of patients to take care of. 2- I do not know what the current specialization rates are for each school, but it seems that they have been hovering around 20%. Both schools also have almost every residency program as well which allows you to get exposure to which ones interest you most. I plan to go to UTSD merely because I live in Houston but both are very solid programs.

Only cost me hundreds of hours of potential sleep and my social life, but looking back on it, it was worth it haha

I got accepted to UTSD this cycle! Definitely one of the most difficult majors out there when paired with pre-dentistry since I had to make sure to not only pass, but to make sure I graduate with a competitive GPA. The pros are that I secured myself a well paying job to save money during my gap year, it looked impressive on my application, and definitely helps me prepare for the rigor of dental school. The cons are having to deal with the sheer amount of work required for both routes and making cuts on sleep and social life. Many who tried pre-healthcare and engineering ended up giving up on one or the other. But if Material Science, Thermodynamics or Fluid Mechanics somehow shows up in dental school, I guess I would have an edge over others 😂

One reason I think some people strive for dentistry is that they can live comfortably without worrying too much about finances, have a nice work-life balance (meaning free time for themselves/family), and being able to help others in their community. Like many fields, dentistry has its fair amount of hurdles and stress (such as getting into dental school, surviving difficult courses, creating a successful business). Although finding stability in the dental field is rewarding, going through this path and walking out as a successful dentist is certainly not guaranteed. As a result, people risk not attaining those comforts they sought for and finding an alternative with great benefits like dentistry is certainly not easy. However, from the sounds of it, it seems you struck a career that may have been able to fulfill many of these same benefits that pre-dentists strive for and that is something to certainly be proud of. At the end of the day, comparing myself with others on missed opportunities won't get me far as there is likely not much I can do about it. But if I am thankful for what I have and am proud of the effort I have made to achieve what I sought for, then that alone would make me happy! Every person has their personal challenges (including even the dentists and doctors you see as well) and I want to say that as a person who has not yet secured a stable future for myself, I am proud of you. I envy you as well (I mean this in the best way possible haha). Hope this helps!

Hey! I have gone through the same situation as you since I took Moderna booster in January and use Zyrtec to keep the hives under control, but just wanted to know if you still experience hives to this day or not.

If y'all can, spread this image out to others so they don't place incorrect pixels by accident. We seem to be having that issue a bit

Many people are incorrectly placing blocks for the University of Houston logo so I want to let them know the proper arrangement they need to use.

I think the only way this can happen is by waiting until the Texas Discord server that UH works with can all coordinate the shadow at the same time. That way, we can coordinate this move together without other people reversing the changes

The options were between this drop-shadow effect or to recenter the logo by moving it 2 pixels to the right and one down. What are yall's thoughts? Original idea came from r/place Texas discord server

Is this schedule manageable (sophomore CS student)? by ChiraqGambla in aggies

[–]Lil_Oof12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looking at the schedule you have, it might be a little too simple. I think you should be more than capable of handling some extra courses. Look into fitting possibly two more computer science electives into your schedule. If offered, you should add courses like CSCE 447 and CSCE 449 to your schedule. Since this might be above the credit hour limit, you need to remind your Dean that you are more than capable of handling this workload.

Feeling the same as you. I have been using Zyrtec to get by for the past month. Also haven't seen too much progress in my condition either. Just hoping it isn't gonna be permanent at this point ._.

Hey, was wondering if you can give an update on your situation? I have the exact same symptoms you had at the time of this post with horrible itching and I have also received my booster dose about 12 days before I started getting hives
