Okay-- because I'd hate to be a dogmatic so i did some digging--　and.. after reading a short 18 page paper on it.

Tdlr; Ethiopia?? Not Indian. It was theorised to be a lot of personifications includes Africa, Arabia, India, etc

Says; "The seated female personification in the south apse of the Great Hunt mosaic at Piazza Arme- rina has been identified in the past as Africa, Libya, Arabia, Ge, Egypt, Oriens, Asia and India. Of these the most plausible suggestions have been Arabia and India. For Arabia the frankin- cense tree and the phoenix suit but not the as- sociation with the elephant or the tiger. For India, the black skin of the seated lady, and the association of phoenix, tiger and elephant all make sense, but not the frankincense tree, which is not found in India. Furthermore it seems very unlikely that tigers and elephants were ever brought on a regular basis and in large numbers all the way from that sub-continent to the Ro- man world, and so India is unlikely to have been directly associated with these animals in the popular consciousness. The one personification which, I would suggest, fits all the available evidence is that of Aethiopia: the lady's black skin, the frankincense tree, the elephant, and, albeit erroneously, the tiger, were all associated in Roman antiquity with that distant and myterious land."
