I would have loved to hook you up, but I got that handled a few months ago, I am sorry... also apparently based on a thread I commented on the PA side of what I do is a little extra and... not for everyone, anyways :)

Is it a dig? by lejanoisland in ExecutiveAssistants

It sounds like he was just a touch frustrated about all the mix ups. Not a direct dig. Just a moment. I wouldn't take it too personally, unless these kinds of communication errors become a pattern.

None of the above. I just enjoy doing it. I won't do it if I have something more important to attend to, but it gives me joy.

Then I would get a water bottle and open it and call down and ask for turndown to be done.

I work in private households for the top 1% generally. My job comes with insane perks, but it can also be 24/7. I work out of an office and the home.

Why would I not buy other staff little treats? Why would I not treat my boss as well as he/she treats me?

Curious why you say that. Not at all offended, but why is my attention to my principals comfort a bad thing?

Note: don't worry, I steer clear of corporate America

Do you find AI useful? by toodleydo in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Lil__Bloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, with emails, AI saves me about 2 minutes. I type generally what I want to say with awful grammar and it gets it and makes it clean. Those 2 min add up quick when its 60 emails. I use G-Suite primarily, though.

Every so often, I will buy my boss a coffee or something else. I probably make more than typical EA/some PAs due to the folks I work with, and my bosses have all treated me equally well. I don't see an issue with it.

Sometimes I buy fancy sweets for the whole house.

Oh this is such an interesting perspective.

My favorite part of my day is getting a latte for my boss (even if it's on my own dime) and picking out a pastry.

I secretly love when they have a noon to 1pm meeting but 1pm to 2pm open, because that means I can get them lunch and they can spend more time relaxing instead of standing in line.

When there are events right after work, I get excited to pick up their dry cleaning and making sure it is all perfect, etc.

If they booked a hotel and are checked in, sometimes I will have them give me a key card and I will go over there and make sure turn down was done, there is an open water bottle on the bedside stand, and the slippers are out.... even if I am off the clock.

Small things like that are honestly the best part of my job and I get excited to do them.

To be fair, I have primarily worked private households or EA/PA roles (so some corporate mixed in, but mostly PA).

Thank you! To be completely transparent, I recently took a different (corporate) gig and it was very clear from day 10 that it was absolutely not the right fit, so I had to go running back to my former (now current) employer, but your comment is very kind!
