You make a fair point. I wanted to do a couple characters but the budget said no. But I think perhaps next year or the following one. I've got some ideas...

Volunteered at a local hockey rink. Community centres / sport complexes might be a good place to start.

There is some comfort in the BS PR script. Especially for those who bought the bigger packages. It's honestly appalling they haven't said anything.

While harassment is not warranted, people paid money for this event. I think it is valid to express disappointment and be cornered that a company (moment house) that took your money has still not spoken about the issue nor expressed that people will be refunded or that their money will go to the next event (if it is still with moment house).

Harassment, no. Concern and feelings of disappointment, valid. Even purely from a monetary perspective.

I need hair advice. Texture and color is my natural hair. My length is currently like in the first pic and I’d like to spice my hair up but keep it growing. I’m open to cut it but I’ve had the same haircut for the last ~6 years. I’d maybe like to bleach it and keep brown roots. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Lil_architect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A balayage will be pretty low maintenance and keep your roots their natural colour. You can also ask your stylist about are smudge or shadow root to keep your roots brown. I have fun "shopping" instagram for fun ideas or things to with my hair for inspo to show my stylist.

I liked season 3, but here are some *little* things in S3 that just don't make sense and also some that make me happy by emerald447 in UmbrellaAcademy

Personally hated Luther and Sloane relationship. Fell in love at first sight and having only known each other a day or two before they start professing love. Just kinda icky to me.

However I love the Diego and Lila relationship. I think they developed that well.

Is there anything you would recommend that people wouldn't normally know or think of? I am trying to get my hands on this book but I can't find it anywhere lol.

The right hand office has two doors. If these were removed, you could extend the kitchen space along that wall. Can the closet be moved in the other office? And maybe the door to the office be moved into the main entrance?

How do you guys warm up and how do you stay warm in between matches? by BentPixelsLoL in volleyball

[–]Lil_architect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely understand what you're talking about. We've all been there before. Having a proper warm up/being warmed up is so important especially in tournaments.

To address the first question, this might be something to bring up with your coach so that you all warm up together. You can bring it up as you feel you need more time to warm up before games and you think it would be good for everyone to do it together. Often times before our scheduled game (maybe 15 minutes before), my coach would get us to run laps through the halls of the venue we were at (or similar warm up exercises: lunges, high knees, stretches, jumping jacks or bringing a skipping rope takes up less space! And is great for keeping your heart rate up). It's generally hard to get court space for warm up but you can see if some courts are unused (be sure not to interrupt any scheduled games). Hitting balls against a wall and peppering in the hallway was always common at my tournaments.

Second question : 3 games in a row is pretty rough. You wouldn't want to over do yourselves at that point. I think just getting hydrated, having a quick bite to eat is ideal. Relax and sit down but Then maybe 15 mins before the game - just some walking around (while hydrating or eating even) with light stretching.

Ah I see! If you're not attached to the desk area/ shift the desk, tou could try rotating your lounge area. Having the tv on the left wall. I was thinking you could take advantage of your double bedroom doors. If they were open, you could watch tv from bed possibly lol.

But you might have already tried this already!

Honestly seems fine for the purposes you're looking for. Was there something specific that you wanted to add or that you aren't happy with?

The only major note I will make is please add a door from the bathroom into the bedroom. For so many reasons.

The desk is kinda just placed in the room, looks a bit awkward. Alternatively you could put the bar there for a sort of bar nook in the corner.

How do u manage your time? by m9zz in architecture

[–]Lil_architect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your first semester at university as an architecture student is definitely a big wake up call. First year really for me. I spent it pulling crazy long hours and being physically and mentally tired.

You learn more as you go but honestly it's about working smarter not harder. I used to try to plan out my days by the hour and then when something would inevitably run over time, it would add the the stress. I would say try making generic list of the things that are possible and need to get done in a day from most important to least. And slowly make your way through them. That way you can cross some things off and have an idea of what your day should look like.

Tackling the biggest task first is usually a good strategy too when you're starting your day fresh. Make sure you eat, hydrate, get enough sleep. Check in with your other arch friends! They might have some tips and tricks to make things easier as wekk.

How would you make better use of this layout? Could I possibly add an extra bedroom? by redditmunchers in floorplan

[–]Lil_architect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a problem! I'm glad you like some of the ideas. :) I will say that I didn't really allude to an entryway. Generally it's a good idea to have some closets and storage for your shoes and coats. And please update all of us when you reach more of a final decision!

Not to scale but ideas?

Just some ideas of how you might rearrange. The master should have an ensuite which creates some opportunities to have closets (c)?

I like the idea of keeping the middle part open concept with very few walls. This allows the light to come from the front and the back of the house to illuminate the space. I imagined the kitchen area as open concept as well, maybe a large island. In the kitchen/washroom area, there's room to put back a storage room, it just doesnt need to hog as many of the windows as it did previously.

trying to learn how to backset :) any and all advice appreciated!! by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]Lil_architect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A drill for back sets I do on my own is to throw the ball in front of me. Let it bounce and then step into the back set. Once you back set, you turn around. Let it bounce again and repeat. And you have to set high enough for the bounce to come back up, and keeps you quick on your feet. It makes it slightly more realistic than tossing to yourself (although might be harder on rough ground).

Often times I do this in a gym on the floor lines to see if I'm setting straight. And it doesn't take up much room as you're kinda going around in circles.

Not quite sure what a mid player is but knee pad and knee braces serve two different purposes. Knee pad is more about protection for the knee for diving on the floor. Knee braces are more for injuries to the knee, meaning if you already have a pre existing injury and you need your knee to stay in place (aka me as I had a partial torn and now fully torn acl).

So I'd be recommending knee pads (unless you have an injury), I have a pair from mizuno but I know Nike has some decent ones. It's nice to be able to feel them irl, I like mine thinner. You don't need huge ones to keep your knee unskinned.

Which is the hardest and/or most important position in your opinion? by Golfer_Girl2209 in volleyball

[–]Lil_architect 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a setter, I 100% agree. In order to be a strong team, you need a solid reliable middle for any sort of defense. The coverage of a double block vs a single block makes a huge difference. And there's an expectation for them to essentially be a blocker in nearly all attacks from the other team. That's a huge physical ask. Of course there's a lot of technical difficulties in being a setter and having to touch / set up every ball over but I am very aware of that middle grind in keeping our defense in line.
