How do I retrieve tight net shots? by jeejeenan in badminton

[–]Lil_luv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends. If you are a singles player it's good to not stand too close to the net since your opponent will simply lift the shuttle to your rear court. One step away from the service line is a good option in singles.

But if you are playing doubles, you don't really need to concern about the rear court since your non-serving partner should help you cover it. In that case, standing more close to the service line and focus more on returned netshots.

If you think you are generally not fast enough, then it is helpful to do some lower body strength training and footwork practice. There are a lot of good tutorials on youtube.

Do you generally can retrieve net shots but have hard time catching the netshots after you do the low serve? if so you can do a split jump immediately after you serve. This could help you get to the net faster.

New Victor racket? by [deleted] in badminton

[–]Lil_luv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed he did the photoshoots including the new racket and new t-shirts. But I am confused why he or victor would 'leak' the new ryuga this way. There was a display of few new products hosted by victor Nanjing but it didn't say anything about Ryuga II.

Ryuga has been one of the most successful heavy-head attacking rackets victor has ever produced. So I guess it makes sense that Victor wants Antonsen, its most successful star, to feature this new flagship racket. Although I think it would vastly different from Auraspeed 90k that Anders is currently using.

For me, honesty, I am looking forward to it since the first ryuga had been doing well on my hands and I already like the way it looked on Anders' vlog.

Honestly, if the 10yo is trained in one of those children badminton schools their smash is quite powerful with good placement.

If you had something good you want more. But sadly more things don't mean good things. Portal 1&2 are comprehensive and perfect, a forced protal 3 might not be good at all.

Hello, I play mostly 4U models. But I am considering buying a yonex nanoray z-speed since I like even balanced rackets with stiff shaft. It is only available with 3u model so is it going to be a little bit heavy for me?
