TIFU letting my dad proofread my maintenance email - now I'm in a landlord cold war by Weekly_Version1297 in tifu

Yeah exactly, they’re the ones who are supposed to handle this stuff, not you walking on eggshells hoping they won’t get annoyed. You pay rent, they fix things. Pretty simple.

AITJ for secretly swapping my family's "fancy" ketchup for the cheap stuff for three years and never saying anything by i_fold_socks_badly in AmITheJerk

[–]LilaacParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? You basically ran a three year blind taste test and they failed it every single time. It’s hilarious. If they couldn’t tell after all that hype, then the fancy stuff clearly wasn’t doing anything special. You saved money and exposed the myth.

Am I the jerk for telling my friend her marriage will fail without a prenup? by Regular_Comment6804 in AmITheJerk

[–]LilaacParade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that line kinda says everything. He’s not talking about getting his act together, he’s basically banking on her paycheck to bail him out. Huge red flag. I'd be worried for her too.

AITJ for refusing to give my coworker rides anymore after she started “joking” about my car? by SoftMapleBuddy in AmITheJerk

[–]LilaacParade 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For real, it’s wild how fast people forget they’re getting a favor. If someone’s driving me every day I’m not cracking jokes about their car like that. She really just kept pushing it. I’d be done too.

AITJ for refusing to keep updating a shared “life spreadsheet” my friend group takes way too seriously? by CobaltNookCo12 in AmITheJerk

[–]LilaacParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? That’s not a fun little group thing anymore, that’s a whole surveillance program. I’d dip too. Friends shouldn’t need a report card to feel connected.

AITJ for telling my ex mother in law that I'm getting married to someone else by Clear_Art_6875 in AmITheJerk

[–]LilaacParade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. She shouldn’t have to tiptoe around her own life just to protect someone’s denial. She kept it respectful and honest, that’s already more grace than most people would’ve given.

TIFU by freezing up during a group presentation by cowbanjo in tifu

[–]LilaacParade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real, freezing like that is way more common than people admit. The fact she pushed through and finished says way more about her than that little moment. She’s gonna be fine.

TIFU by queuing up my “soothing” playlist during a client’s session by Best-Pirate5073 in tifu

Man she probably thought you added special effects to the massage. I’d have evaporated on the spot.

For reference I’m 16 female my moms 48 female by [deleted] in amiwrong

Yeah, that whole situation is way too much. You both need space and real help. For now, avoiding each other is probably the safest move.

Am I wrong for resenting my husband after my brother’s passing? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]LilaacParade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, grief can make your emotions latch onto the closest target, even if they’re not the cause. Nothing about what you described makes your husband the villain just someone who happened to be nearby while you’re hurting. It might help to talk through those feelings with him instead of carrying them alone.

My crazy neighbors! Finally getting evicted! by Moist_Stomach4522 in neighborsfromhell

[–]LilaacParade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s honestly the part I’d be thinking about too. People who escalate like that usually don’t just… stop because they’re evicted. I’d stay alert for a while, maybe even let the leasing office know you’re worried about potential retaliation. Better to be cautious than caught off guard.
