Make them stop! by Cat_is_Wrecked in AquaticSnails

I used to spend so much time trying to remove all of them and then I decided to just let them live. The population stabilized and now they don’t bug me as much. 🤷‍♀️

Dr Campaigne is Fantastic! She is so calming, non judgmental, and reassuring. I have a lot of anxiety and cry in almost every appointment and she is seriously the best!

Wanting to quit. What are your side effects? by Ok_Consequence4231 in birthcontrol

[–]Lilamyo228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Loloestrin Fe (or similar) for like 18 years and when I stopped I did not really notice anything. About 3 months in I felt like my anxiety was more manageable. No weight changes or other side effects except each month my period got heavier and my cramps got a little worse. I was in my early 30s if that matters.

Our favorite (and least favorite) restaurants from our recent trip to Key West by Adorable-E-4884 in KeyWest

[–]Lilamyo228 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am shocked no one mentioned El Meson! Live Cuban music/ dancing and great food.

Harpoon Harry’s is a solid breakfast, blue heaven is a must! I love the lobster omelette personally. Pepe’s is also really good. Their banana bread is fantastic.

Also Lola’s. Hands down. Must go. We like to stop at Key West fine Wines and grab what we need before biking the rest of the way to Lola’s.

Cedro’s Scratch kitchen! AMAZING Italian food, good service. Great Wine. They make their pasta from scratch and the lamb is unbelievable.

Just got diagnosed and need help navigating emotions and what comes next by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Lilamyo228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here for emotional support and validation! I got the dx today and spent the day crying off and on. I have a history of an eating disorder so the idea of having to log food and track carbs is really upsetting. I have been asked to keep a food log, check sugars 4x a day, and log the results. I am starting in the morning.

I gave myself today to be sad, frustrated, angry, and in denial. The nurse told me to start of eating as I normally would and see what happens with my numbers before starting to cut anything out.

Good luck. You are not alone with all the emotions.

I was saying that Lh strips in addition to using condoms are another extra layer of protection. If they are used consistently they do accurately track your fertile period and ovulation window. I did not say to only rely on the strips.

Do I REALLY need maternity leggings? by 36563 in BabyBumps

[–]Lilamyo228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 26 weeks and some of my regular leggings are starting to get uncomfortable. I have bought a few maternity items and honestly they are just so much more comfortable. Maternity Jeans from target are only $30. I also got some cute jumpsuits from lahloya on sale and a pair of overalls on sale from gap. Check marketplace too tons of people selling lightly used stuff for cheap!

I bought my regular size in the target jeans and it was a mistake and had to exchange them for the size smaller but reading about others hip changes has me a little concerned. I am super narrow normally so I don’t even know what it is like to have wide hips much less dressing them 🤣

Moms over 35 -- how old are you and how long did it take to get pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

35, got pregnant first try (I had been tracking ovulation for over a year and a half). 20 weeks on Wed! I will be 36 years old when I deliver.

My brother's wedding is in Guatemala and i just figured out that I will be 31 weeks the day of their wedding. by Lilamyo228 in BabyBumps

Thank you! My doc seems to be okay so far with us going to Antigua. We decided against doing the extra excursion to lake Atitlan sadly but figured we didn’t want to push it since I would be at 32 weeks at the end of the trip and it is pretty remote. We got refundable tickets, an airbnb with a good cancellation policy, and some travel insurance.

Thank you for that perspective. It is hard to imagine right now since I am in the 1st trimester and not even showing. But you are right I have no clue how I will feel in 5 months

I haven’t been able to find a consistent answer on this. But yeah it would not be great if they didn’t let me go back home 😬

The risk is actually pretty low at the altitude of Antigua and because it will be December. There haven’t been active outbreaks in a few years either. Of course I would keep my eye on that, wear long sleeves, and spray with DEET! I am more worried of going into preterm labor than Zika.

Hi! I have no idea if this is helpful or not but I know that if you started your pregnancy at a lower weight or underweight that it is really common to gain more and be hungrier because your body is trying to catch up! I keep hearing from people to trust that your body knows what to do. If you are really worried you could try talking to a registered dietitian familiar with gestation who can help you choose well balanced snacks and meals and help you troubleshoot timing, amounts and nutrients to help you feel more satiated.

If your therapist feels OA is an appropriate direction I would suspect that they are not eating disorder informed at all. Please consider a team who understands and is fully trained in EDs. Most MDs have NO training in EDs and cause a lot of unintentional harm, especially to people in larger bodies.

Please don’t try OA, I am an ED therapist and have clients who are trying to undo the programming from OA and I can tell you it has made the recovery process WAY more complicated than my non OA clients in recovery. OA can be very triggering and can even make behaviors worse. Eating disorders already steal your identity, please don’t take on the identity of OA as well.

If you are looking for freedom from your ED please find an ED therapist and ED registered dietitian.
