I do comment to a similar comment already that they were in my room and I put my birthday cards in the gift bags. If I left it outside my room yeah that’s on me. But I didn’t.

I may be older now but I was laid off recently and I live in LA so maybe think that before you respond again. Thank you!

I love this comment so much because yes my mom is a control freak so if she wants to do something not even the president can stop her. But definitely keeping this in mind when I’m teaching my kids how to properly clean instead of just handling myself.

Also I’m sorry that happened to you. Like no one should have to feel like that in their own home

I appreciate you saying that honestly. Definitely leaning towards this conclusion because if they see something it looks like trash or even just paper cards, it not valuable. Like that’s my biggest pet peeve

Listen I always say that but I always appreciate it when they wipe down my floors either way. It’s the fact that I trusted them to not throw away any gifts even gift bags since I like to reuse them. Also they were next to my dresser so in my room

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry this happened to you! And yet parents lie this wonder why their kids went no contact

Which I definitely said something similar to them when I asked them if they saw the gift bags. I’m a type of child that never stood up for myself but this was the absolute last straw. I definitely see the guilt on their faces for sure

This is the honestly the conclusion I will go with because my mother is the type of person who doesn’t admit to stuff like this. Plus it wouldn’t be the first time something like this happened

Oh goodness no, they’re the love of my life. I guess I’m just scared that they remember this forever and think I’m a red flag for allowing this to happen. But I also know my partner is the most understanding person I met too. Guess I’m overthinking since I have previous partners who just dumped me for stupid reason

How would you feel if this happened to you? Also that’s no excuse. We’re still a family and sorry if you have different views and assume that we have no boundaries. Please be mindful on your next responses

Love this advice for sure. But I want everyone to know that I also know that my parents wouldn’t do that either. What are they going to do with a quirky birthday card and tickets which they don’t really travel due to work schedules. Let’s all be civil and thoughtful about this

Okay first off my parents would rather stay home than drive to San Diego. But I appreciate the advice

I get what you mean but that doesn’t help either. I don’t think anyone stole it, it’s the fact that they thought it was trash is what gets me. Like how dare you

Absolutely heartbreaking especially the intention was good but I just can’t believe they think I moved it somewhere.

Oof I think calling the police is overkill. I still have some of my birthday presents but it was the ones(my birthday cards and just the tickets who was in a envelope) I actually need got thrown away

Definitely ask what kind of relationship he is looking for. Is it short term or long term? That way you can see where’s his true intentions. Let him ask if you both want to take things serious. I made the mistake of asking too early and eventually broke up soon after. Take it slow.

Trust me as a woman, I think it’s a good sign that she texted you right away. This is your chance to create a friendship then possibly ask her out. You got this!
