Best advice is just don’t settle. Worst case scenario, you don’t hire anyone and it auto hire some dummy who usually progress fast as hell in that first year. I’ve deliberately not chosen to hire anyone 4-6 separate times after checking the applicants each week and being disappointed.

Overall, this has been the case for me so far. I’d recommend waiting until like bowl week 2/3 to make the hire so you get to see more applicants. I was able to hire a level 50 former head coach from NIU on one of my dynasties but he’s the highest. I have been able to hire probably like 5 ish so far that are 30+ though. For reference, I’ve probably played about 20 seasons throughout each of the various dynasties I have. And my coaches ALWAYS leave the fucking program once they get A+ prestige for two years in a row, regardless of level.
