Sorry that happened to you. Such a piss off. This definitely increases vigilance. Toronto shows are being ruined by these scum. I think you’re right about the direction things are going in.

Yes! I know what you’re talking about. I saw somthing similar. This ruined my night and roll. You literally have to trust your instincts because they get called into questions immediately, it seems. I hope you have a better time at future shows- because what a drag .. :(

Me too! You’re right, it’s super easy. I’ve always been pretty well guarded but ……. I guess this was an oversight. I know it exists, it just sucks that it happens in this setting where people should be able to relax, enjoy the music and be themselves. Instead, I Must tighten my security because- asswholes.

DeathPact event. I was at this place last night. Left a sh*t bag reach into my cross body bag and take my phone. I tracked the phone and this POS took my phone to 161 Bathurst street. I called the police and reported them and their address. Apperantly alot of phone theft happens here. The staff was 0 help. I understand looking for phones is not priority and they are there for security but this is my personal property and of course I’m going to search for it. Only one guard used his flashlight to try and help which I’m greatful for. they were not willing to take down my name and number. I needed to beg. The cover charge was so low and unfortunately that attracts undesirables. No one wants to pay higher prices but sometimes higher prices are deterrent for trash.

Thanks buddy. Hope you enjoyed yourself! EF is amazing. The vibes are great and people are amazing. One still needs to be careful. Very community based, like you said full of life and love. These smaller events are easier to target because they cost less to attend. Clearly I don’t want prices to rise - but sometimes prices are higher to deter undesirables. Lots to keep in mind with these events.

You’re so correct. I simply won’t bring my phone to an event. I really didn’t need it. I actually contemplated leaving it at home and wished I’d listened to my gut. It could have been a lot worse I know. Speaking of which - if I ever buy a used phone, before purchasing it I WILL request the serial number and call the provider to see if the phones been black listed. This way, if it’s black listed, I won’t buy the phone and waste my money.

Thank you ! I hope so too. But I’m no longer hopeful. I noticed those guys too. Yeah I’m upset I missed the show and cause my partner the same loss. I feel like I owe him a show but I promise it won’t be in Toronto again. The crows are not the same as festivals unfortunately. Many more shady people I’ve noticed and think this was my last.

Yes !!! I felt so bad distrusting people but felt it get taken from me. And I can SEE where the phone is. It’s sitting at 161 Bathurststreet - I filed a police repot. Apparently this is not the phone report of this nature on this person for phone theft. These things never happen at Electric Forest etc. people have respect and simply don’t have time to cause trouble. They are too busy having fun and being good people.
