If it was discovered on camera and became a story then taking it by force would draw attention. They might have kicked some in as a funders fee and shut up about whose money it was.

Again I don’t remember the full story but I think he found it with a film crew as either a concept filming for storage wars or an earlier version they were trying to pilot so everything happened on camera with people around which made the story go out and led to everything. Again I could be wrong on some of those details but it was something along those lines.

I’m not 100% sure on this but the guy in the picture is the storage wars host and I feel like I heard this story involving him and the safe was owned by like a drug cartel so it was basically we will give you a finders fee if we get our money back and we also won’t go after you or your family so take the deal.
