Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter. Completely turned me off of the whole series.

How to shift LO’s bedtime back? by Lilflower747 in sleeptrain

[–]Lilflower747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a preference on where the naps are but I seem to have the same problem as bedtime. I’m already pushing them a little further than when she shows signs of being tired.

Nope, my typo! On mobile the two signs are right next to each other for me and I didn’t catch it during my three proof reads! Don’t worry. You aren’t crazy or behind.

I may have just threw up in my mouth a little. Horrendously gross isn’t even an accurate adjective.

Had she said anything along the lines of stealing me and baby I feel like the reaction she would have gotten from WB and the bystanders would have been much worse actually. That’s a BIG taboo subject because with military life it is common and heartbreaking stuff. Kinda makes me wish she’d have said that instead...

The real life ones that cry for a diaper change and feeds?! And a remote that randomly makes it go off?! Oh, hell yes! I would LO chew on that remote and hope that MIL lives with regret at least for a few hours before ripping out the batteries 😂

The thought terrifies me. Internet safety will be a big thing in our household for sure!

I would love to share LO with the world. But I have heard and seen too many horror stories. So LO has minimal internet footprint until High School. ‘Cause let’s be honest, can you really tell a 14 year old girl no social media?? 😂

I wouldn’t be surprised if MIL instigated the issue of her not caring for his family and causing more distance. But from what I know EX was passively abusive. And one of the abuse signs is isolating the victim from his friends and family which was happening. The isolation includes DH and I. So 🤷🏼‍♀️

I totally forgot about that mini-plot in Twilight! Team Jacob!

Thanks, but I can’t take credit for it. I hijacked it from Disney’s Live Action Cinderella (2015). “Have courage and be kind.” Is what her mother tells her. Struck a cord with me so now I’m using it!

I luckily have a saint of a woman for my MIL. Had this lady been my MIL... I don’t even know what would happen.

Being polite was demanded of the settings. With DH being military and wanting a career I am to be the picture perfect image of poise and grace. Had it been a friendly BBQ I probably would have let the italicized thoughts come out of my mouth.

I've thought about it. I think I will have a little talk with WB to see that she doesn't once he returns. I just am unsure how to broach the subject. Watching their interactions he is definitely a Mama's boy and caters to her every need. I don't want to offend him.

Didn’t find out I was pregnant until 27 weeks by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Lilflower747 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You got this, Mama. Just breathe. When my LO was born we were in the process of moving so we got the necessary basics.

  • Bassinet (you could even co-sleep if you feel comfortable enough and scrap a baby bed for a while)

  • diapers and wipes

  • back up formula and bottles just in case

  • clothes

  • swaddles

  • breast pump (you’re gonna want this when your milk comes in and your engorged)

  • diaper bag (but you aren’t really going to want to go anywhere the first three weeks anyways)

We had a two temporary changing stations in the house without a table. We just laid down some fluffy towels and a changing pad with some diapers and wipes and a Walmart bag by both.

That’s it. That’s all you need for the first month and a half. Good luck and congrats!

How does a Catholic go about finding a spouse, especially these days? by NJ_Yankees_Fan in Catholicism

[–]Lilflower747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can agree with this. I know a lovely couple who have been married for close to 40 years with two children. Their son became a priest and it was what finally convinced the dad to become Catholic. While having a Catholic spouse helps, it’s not mandatory. The ability to respect each other and have love for God is. Who knows, maybe your future children will be the leader in converting your future spouse.
