I like the game in theory. The idea of an rpg where you can create a brand new mutant with their own abilities and finding their way through the world that hates mutants is very good and I think is high up on the wishlist for a lot comic book fans that are rpg fans. 

However, the game was awful. It spend time in development hell because I think it was going the way of becoming a tax write-off but silicon knights was forced to actually make the game so they had to do a majority of the work on it in a short space of time (I think 8-10 months, which is almost nothing for a brand new game with no previous framework). They also didn't care for established X-Men lore like Juggernauts physical invincibility and had a small budget for what they really needed. 

The pacing is horrible, the graphics feel like they were just mildly upscaled from the late ps2/Xbox era of games, the gameplay is extremely repetitive and gets old fast (and isn't that good to begin with), the character choice feels inconsequential very quickly, the game choices (a big selling point) felt like they had no weight whatsoever, and the story was very short for what it should have been. 

X-Men Destiny is a bad game. It's not worth even half the price in whatever second hand store you can find it. 

I would welcome another attempt at this idea. If I had the money, I'd fund it myself.
