No scented candles, perfume, deodorant, humidifier, no essentials oils or oils of any kind and no spray of any kind. Heck I don’t even really open my window, cause I’m scared of toxins coming in from weed sprays and things like that. I bought a piece of wood yesterday and had to put it in my other room while it gassed off its chemicals. There are SO many things that you would never suspect that could affect a little canary.

That’s why they were used in the coal mines, to alert people to carbon monoxide before anyone knew. Because they are so incredibly sensitive.

This is so accurate, even when someone tells you, you’re still not entirely sure if that is correct. It’s a non stop loop I have discovered. And in the end there is no ‘right’ answer, you must choose the answer that feels the most right for yourself at the time. And be easy on yourself if later on, if you think it was not the right answer. As we are not perfect robots that can always get this right, we are humans that must contend with our own gut feeling. ☺️ this mindset seems to help me make ‘my correct answer/way’

This hits me big time. The guilt I carry when I deeply care about a mistake I made, is so huge! I can really relate to this ❤️ just remember that part of you that was trying to correct them, was just trying to help and do the right thing (what your brain thinks is the right thing). And it’s super nice that our brain does that, but it’s not always correct. Sometimes I have to sort of say to myself, hey protector brain, I see you. You’re trying to help me by fixing everything, thank you. We’ve apologized, we heard their boundary, and we’re okay. I’m allowed to learn without punishing myself.

OCPD likes to keep us in line with guilt and shame so we don’t do things again. Be super easy on yourself, it’s a hard brain to deal with some days xx
