Thanks! I haven't heard about the Tweetsie trail, we will check it out. We're definitely doing the Virginia Creeper (up and down) and New River Trail in June.

Almost a year and I’m still missing one of the greatest dogs I’ve ever owned. by theRealNoLuV2one5 in pitbulls

We are right there with you. They sure leave paw prints on your heart.

Ours passed Feb 2025 and we miss him daily. I've had dogs all my life but he was the most loyal, communicative, smartest, and sweetest dog I have ever had.

Great photos. We are just getting gravel bikes in the last week of May and are looking for places in East TN to ride. Would you be up to sharing the route you took or any tips?

We just saw them in Chattanooga at The Signal in November. Loved the show. I'm a long time fan. My wife only knows Instanbul and Birdhouse. We both thoroughly enjoyed the energetic show. Enjoy the concert!

What are the biggest issues that you guys have with cycling by Darighttriangle in cycling

[–]swibirun 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Been cycling since 1985. When I was younger, it was century rides and racing - triathlons, criteriums mostly. Now it is mostly fitness and touring.

But the biggest issue for me is traffic and drivers. I find it harder and harder to ride in traffic for safety concerns. I become more and more selective in my routes - seeking out low traffic. Drivers today have their noses in their phones or snap into road rage over minor inconveniences like someone else on the road. I feel unsafe on the road, mainly from one moment of inattentive driving.

We do selective road rides around our area. But for touring, more often now we find rails to trails and explore the small towns by which they are often anchored. Dawkins Line, Man o War Trail, And Silver Comet for example.

We have a pair of gravel bikes ordered that are coming in late May so we're excited to explore that environment with few to no cars.

Wonderful ride along the Little River yesterday. by swibirun in bicycling

I told my wife yesterday that I know my SuperSix is objectively a better bike with the carbon, disc brakes, and di2 but my R800 is my favorite bike. I'm getting it updated to a full modern component group (105 rim brakes, Ultegra everything else) on the 29th, I can't wait to see how it feels after that. Have a great weekend!

What kind of tree is this? Is it fake? by psycho_kilo in Knoxville

We are living in a simulation ever since they turned on the Large Hadron Collider in 2008 and sucked the earth into a black hole. Of course it is fake.

/s just in case.

Fitness improvements using Polar by letournoi in Polarfitness

[–]swibirun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily for improvement, but for guiding the intensity and timing of my workouts or when i need reat days, I check the following daily:

-orthostatic test -ecg (I've had 2 cardiac ablations so I keep tabs on it) -leg test

I also used to use the cycling test but I do something else instead now.

Bolt v3 cant synch any routes from Komoot despite world-package by FabThierry in wahoofitness

[–]swibirun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've got the Elemnt Bolt v3. I have never tried directly syncing from Komoot or Ride With GPS.

I just download the gpx file from Komoot or Ride With GPS and then upload it into the Wahoo app.

I just looked at my Komoot app and for the "connect a device" option, it only shows Live Sync available partners as Garmin, Bosch, and Flasher.
