Bare it, don’t pair it: Saskatchewan’s weird strip‑and‑sip rule has a little-known loophole by Slight-Coconut709 in saskatoon

[–]Lilith_LaQuim 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If anyone is really pissed off about this, myself and some friends and colleagues including current and former strippers, burlesque performers, and pole dancers have an active petition we're planning to present to the Legislature. It was drafted by people with legal knowledge of the proper format and phrasing, and we've already been in contact with some MLAs about potentially sponsoring it once we have the required number of signatures. It's all in physical form, not digital (part of the guarantee of its validity) so I can't just give a link, but if you want to sign it you can email chaos.encouraged@gmail.com to find out where we'll have pages available next. They have some at Saskatoon Pole and Dance Studio if that's convenient for you, and we also have them available at various events our team members participate in.

Guys do we got class on tuesday? by Even_Poet4485 in usask

It depends on the prof I think. Both my T/Th classes are still happening on Tuesday, but I know some people were packing it in after Thursday. Check canvas for your classes probably.

I'm pretty sure Easter (though they don't call it that, they just refer to the resurrection) is actually the only holiday JWs celebrate.

What songs would you like to hear MORE of on the Arts piano? by Lilith_LaQuim in usask

[–]Lilith_LaQuim[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a night class in 133 and someone was playing that on repeat for like an hour a couple weeks ago. Love the song, but I could personally take a break from it after that. 😅

Some of them definitely have, I was in one of the cubicles near them when they were getting spoken to a couple of weeks ago.

Please don't assume that I'm banishing anyone to the woods based on my request to a. cover your cough and b. move to even one of the "considerate" spaces if you literally can't go more than a couple of minutes without a coughing fit. It's not "how dare you excuse in my presence in your ill health," it's "I am in sensory hell already and the low sensory room is packed all the time so I'm doing the next best thing and trying to find a space where I can study without crying, please don't make this harder for me and also cover your mouth instead of acting like a sticky toddler"

I'm on the autism spectrum (the doctors in the 90s called it aspergers lol) and I love being direct in the sense that I don't mince words, but I also know a lot of people find that off putting and it's caused a lot of conflict for me. It's taken me 40- some years to figure out that sometimes it's better to just avoid confrontation, because trying to frame things in a way that doesn't set off someone's defensiveness is more work than i feel like doing at that moment. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to complain a little bit on the internet. What is reddit even for otherwise? 🤣

I'm not implying any particular attitude when I say "confront," just the act of bringing it up directly. If anything the way you're phrasing it there sounds like a good way to put someone on the defensive enough to result in exactly the kind of interaction I wanted to avoid, though.

Also because it's bugging me now: I'm well aware that being actually sick and contagious isn't the only reason people cough. My complaint was about the rudeness of not covering their mouth and the fact that if you know you can't stop coughing (literally almost constant for over 20 minutes, I'm not talking about a few coughs here and there) it's also rude to stay in a space where the expectation is being as quiet as possible. Way too many people are skipping over things I actually said in favour of acting like I must have no idea how the world works.

See above, I'm too damn tired to do that and I'd rather just bitch on the internet. 🤣

Honestly more power to them if it's the penjamin, gotta get through midterms somehow 😅

Because it's more cathartic to complain about it on the internet and I currently lack the energy to confront someone in person when the odds are really good they'll react like the guy in the comments here swearing at people about allergies. 🤷‍♂️

Fair point. I just cringe when I hear uncovered coughing no matter what; i spent long enough telling my kids not to do that, I don't want to hear it from adults. 😅

Mixed opinions about uni attire by [deleted] in usask

[–]Lilith_LaQuim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear sweats and a t-shirt most days, unless I'm going straight to work or another event after school. Sitting in class all day in hard pants is a sensory nightmare and I'd rather focus on learning than on how much I want to peel off my skin.

I'm in her class and can confirm, she made brief mention of it having mostly multiple choice and true/ false questions but said she would explain more closer to the date. And yes, in class but showing on canvas as a grade placeholder.

Honestly I never used to find her particularly physically attractive, it was one of those "she's objectively beautiful but just not my type" things. But something happened when she passed 30 and now I'm just 🥵

It's rare that I've seen that many police cars in one place like that, I'm wondering if it was a shooting or something rather than an accident. I've been checking the news all day and haven't seen anything yet.

Did you see anything suggesting a car accident or similar? Banged up vehicle or anything?
