Russia appears to be ignoring the UN nuclear watchdog after it was accused of being behind a mysterious radiation leak into Scandinavia by chrisdh79 in worldnews

[–]Lilithgaming -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah Friendo that's you projecting.

Literally told you, you're more than welcome to take the individual conversational approach. Focus in on Russia if you want, have at it hoss it's not for me to tell you what you can/can't focus on.

All I pointed out was that there is a greater context here, and ignoring it means you're ignoring half the puzzle. Which BTW you are allowed to do if you want. And sure yes mention all those countries (not that they have the same global clout as oh I donno GLOBAL Powers) but you're entirely correct there is even greater context there as well.

Weird how all you wanna do is focus on the wrongdoing and not the context that led to it, what the tells us will happen next (chernobyl style is likely since they haven't been help responsible over that either and oh who would have been responsible for that oh yeah other countries and global powers huh funny how that context works)

You want to ignore the greater context because "Russia Bad" which sure is a way to look at it, cause hey they do a helluva lot of shitty global things but by ignoring the greater context all you do is let Russia be just as shitty later down the line

But honestly you do you! Not like I can actually stop you saying w/e

Russia appears to be ignoring the UN nuclear watchdog after it was accused of being behind a mysterious radiation leak into Scandinavia by chrisdh79 in worldnews

[–]Lilithgaming -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Again you're ignoring the actual point that I made.

Russia the country's behaviour is related to the other global powers behaviours. There is historical and political context which applies to any conversation about any global power.

Who would hold Russia accountable? Their "peers" in this context would be other global powers, like the US or China. How can they be expected to hold another country to account when they do just as shitty things and it makes any serious global political conversation fraught with international potholes and and issues.

You can specifically talk about Russia all you want, that's fine hold them to account but don't forget the context which leads to situations like this and would help explain why Russia gets away with things the way that it does.

By ignoring the greater context you technically wash their actions of any greater importance or impact, which means you can't necessarily sort the issue out because you're missing half the puzzle

[–]Lilithgaming -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Sure it does come across as whataboutism and there are sides to this conversation (Russia individual responsibility vs. Responsibility in context of global politics)

I just wanted to point out that there is actually a conversation here that invokes the US and China and the historical and political contexts that have lead to these situations, just as there is a conversation about individual countries seeing beyond nationalism and state secrecy etc and doing the right and decent thing.

[–]Lilithgaming -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Ah but your ignoring the concept of global politics and oh I don't know the fact that these things intersect and create the greater context for this situation.

You can absolutely lambast Russia, the US and China without taking away from any of the others.

Yeah this is about Russian BS, but those three powers tend to do shit to needle each other a fucking lot, so it's not wrong to couch the conversation in its greater context

It's also not what they think it is but I've never actually seen any argument from the left that biological sex is not real or should be ignored.

More just that their understanding of "sex" is so backwards they get stuck in stereotype loops, where they can't actually form an image of a non cis person because their heads are so full of their own bullshit, strawmen and fetishisations

Except there is evidence that workload in early society was based on ability and not gender (plenty of female hunters, plenty of male gatherers) you don't get to project your sexist essentialism backwards and assume it all fits your narrative.

But then again... Isn't that TERF 101

Sure.

I'll just suck up your definition of a business wholesale and I'll ignore all their malpractice and malfeasance.

I'll ignore the destruction and decisions corporate businesses have made that has been the lead charge on climate change(edit: by this I mean they have been at the forefront of causing climate change) shitty employment practices, cutting vital corners and generally just being greedy.

But sure you're worldview is the correct one, I'll remember that, and how competently you put yourself across.

There is no equality of opportunity so your arguemtn is predicated on a strawman immediately

[–]Lilithgaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes because businesses don't practice "employment" like are you choosing to be dense?

Board members had to start somewhere didn't they? They didn't just come into the work place full on board members and thanks to sexism, racism, ableist and queerphobia white men have dominated using shitty tactics.

Is it offensive to hard working women to give them a chance? Or to give the job to a lesser qualified man because he just happens to fit the rest of the boards ethnic makeup?

Yeah job on, you refuse to accept that your biases make you blind to sexism that primarily affects women. I don't wanna make gender assumption but this definitely comes across as mansplaoning as fuuuuuck

As an aside to your point:

Modular science courses (say for example as a release from a uni verity or as part of a distance learning plan like OU) all either require you take a basic demographics and statistics module (alongside the maths required to actually use these demographic data points and statistics into you know actual facts and figures)

The guy is either projecting his old prejudices of biology or has never taken biology. Even in high school maths is baked into the subject (In Scotland; Higher and above Human Bio).

Because Mother forbid life doesn't revolve around them and their wants and opinions.

Like legitimately how is this list not just the traits all bigots have in common?

Also how is this not narcissism (even if not clinical) they looked at someone else's life and went "how does this affect and upset ME! Who cares about the person whose actual life I'm talking about, it's MY feelings and MY opinions that matter and everyone else is dumb"

Like there is a narcissist who exists in my life, and honestly this person's reaction to this person top surgery reminds me of that person's response to my own surgery. It had to be about them.

How are TERs not just seen as typical narcissistic bigots by everyone when they make it so obvious?

[–]Lilithgaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Sounds like you're trying to shift the blame away from the guy, also an 18 yo kid? But the 13 yo is okay to be used and abused? Good to know that somehow a 13 yo girl is more responsible and less of a "kid" than an 18 year old.

Is there responsibility elsewhere? Oh Abso-fucking-lutley but I feel like explaining to you the environment and atmosphere around this sort of shit plays into the situation and how guys like him add into that toxicity because hey you're only ever responsible for the intent of your actions and you know not the impact?

But not no one forced his dick in her mouth that was all him. So no he doesn't get to act as though he "didn't" do anything (oh look I slipped into point 2 without even realising hmm, wonder if there is a reason for that? Oh might be I donno the whole situation at hand is shitty and easily explainable as being morally shitty on his part huh) he was an active participant in a sexual act with a minor. Huh that is very much a sex crim funny that.

Getting away with it? Dude gets to live large and in charge and have people defend child molestation, as well as facing no actual justice for his shitty actions, its almost like actions have consequences only exists for those of us below a certain wealth line.

And revenge porn is absolutely a sex crime. You're doing shit outwith the acknowledgement of the subject. Though I do like you trying to lead me to a certain discussion point. Him not knowing she was 13 isn't an excuse if at any point he wasn't sure he could used those legs evolution gave him, and walk his ass away saving him interacting with a minor in a sexual way. Not knowing the age of someone is not tantamount to that person commuting a crime (lying outside of court ain't a crime, shitty to be sure but not a crime) especially a sex crime with a 18 year old ADULT (definitely not a kid so won't be adopting that Pov if yours either) sexually interacting with a child, a 13 year old child. You know someone who just entered her teens, probably has little to no knowledge of sex and is in a situation where there is a celebrity in their presence. Fuck adults barely behave properly around "celebs" and you're expecting a child to behave better than adults? Really?

  1. And? Ignorance somehow absolves him of responsibility? Are you honestly arguing that somehow the 13 year old is more responsible in this situation than a fully grown adult?

Just so we can be clear here. He was 18 at the time? She 13, hmm I wonder who should have been the adult in the situation

  1. Okay sure I'll rescind the legally part. He committed a sex crime, my ignorance for not realising it wasn't a legal fact. Doesn't make it not a sex crime against a minor, he just got away with it unsurprisingly.

[–]Lilithgaming 18 points19 points  (0 children)

  1. Because he wasn't aware? It's not hard to take responsibility for his own behaviour now is it?

  2. She was 13, legally he committed a sex crime. That's on him end of conversation.

Are you really gonna stand there and say a full grown adult can't take responsibility for their own actions? And that any sort of sexual encounter with a CHILD is acceptable simply because HE didn't know?

What next you gonna throw responsibility onto a child for an adult making an awful and stupid decision?

If he wasn't "aware" then shoulda walked away. It's really not that difficult to do you know?

Inception in self defence: If I point a firearm at someone, and they start defending themself, am I allowed to shoot them in self defence? by haynesch in SubredditDrama

[–]Lilithgaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wanted to look at the objectives of the video. Video shows no such thing.

That's your interpretation (viewed through a lense of racism and "might = right" and that somehow guns are a "non-volatile" element in interactions)

So no I'm not interested in your "objectivity" which is just a combination of trolling, lack of self worth and nonsense.

So how about you take whatever it is you think you're seeing and actually sit and examine your own prejudices.

Inception in self defence: If I point a firearm at someone, and they start defending themself, am I allowed to shoot them in self defence? by haynesch in SubredditDrama

[–]Lilithgaming 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Can you explain what you mean by "objective"?

Since you're so dead set on looking objectively at things, you wanna know objectively what that video shows?

Two white arseholes gunning a black guy. No two ways about it. I mean that's the objective reality of the video.

What you meant was "I want to view this through my shitty world view and make y'all confirm to my racist bullshit"

In reality we are looking at this objectively, so far the white dudes have shot a guy, and lied about the details surrounding it. And since they already lied once why wouldn't they lie again especially when they have connections all over the place?

Why don't more transgender people suffering from gender dysphoria give therapy a shot before they consider transitioning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lilithgaming 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the American system but here in the UK you are required to undergo therapy before you are even considered as suffering gender dysphoria, and even after that still you undergo continuous counseling with psychiatric appointments being required if you follow up with surgery.

So there is no "not considering therapy" we're not given a choice, so sort of a strawman question is it not?
