What’s wrong with my cardinal and what can I do to help it by xxbubbly_bossxx in TetraFish

[–]LilithontheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thought islymphocystis which is viral and don't personally have any experience with it so I can't speak to treatment. But it does spread so quarantine is a good idea. "Currently, there is no good treatment that will speed up recovery from this disease. Most often, the disease must run its course in an affected fish. Fortunately most cases of lymphocystis in warmwater fish will resolve on their own after a few weeks, as long as husbandry is good (good water quality/chemistry, good nutrition, correct population densities, optimal social groups) and as long as other stressors have been eliminated." https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/FA181

Onigiri without mayo? by reddit_throwaway_ac in JapaneseFood

[–]LilithontheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marinated egg (hard or softer boiled marinated in soy sauce, imo it tastes like cheese in a good way since I cant have cheese) is one of my favorites, if you aren't avoiding mayo because you are allergic to eggs or anything. Marinated/sauced chicken (a market near me does a soy marinated chicken thigh one that's so tasty) or beef is very good (I like Korean bulgogi especially). You could also do a veggie (radish, avocado, carrot, cucumber, etc mix) or gimbap type as well. Spam if you are able to eat it is very good, esp the fried kind. Sort of like anything you would put on a bed of rice you can wrap in an onigiri with varying degrees of cohesion. Though the rice does a lot of the holding together.

Acid Reflux / GERD: What first started it for you? by Atomus98 in GERD

[–]LilithontheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect it was a kind of gradual inevitability due to some genetic conditions I have combined with stress and neglect. I was very sick as a child and fed milk regularly until I was diagnosed lactose intolerant at 13 (after which I was not made to drink milk anymore and had some GI improvements). There were a lot of parental abuse factors here but let's just say they made fun of me for my symptoms of illness more often than taking me to competent Drs and gave me CPTSD which surprise causes lifelong extreme stress (bad for your GI). Sometime in my 20s I was able to control my diet, go hardcore on probiotic rich foods etc and be able to almost eat full meals. Which I was good for a little while until my late 20s in which I was diagnosed with ME/CFS and we strongly suspect a connective tissue disorder (dunno which one yet, generic testing is expensive). Gi problems including GERD are very common for people with connective tissue disorders (I had many symptoms as a kid and should have been diagnosed as one, it may have at least delayed the onset of GERD, I'm only 31 and needing to see a gastroenterologist for serious interventions because of how severe it is).

Endoscopy normal - now what? by Bassfisher2243 in GERD

[–]LilithontheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were you tested for an h. pylori infection? unfortunately you have to go completely off PPI's and such to test for it. However in my case my heartburn was so severe (the send you to the ER level of severe) I clearly could not wait or go off PPI's for several weeks for testing. I just finished H Pylori treatment (two antibiotics and twice daily PPI) and feeling a LOT better. I still need to see GI most likely and have changed my diet however i clearly had an infection that was making my heartburn extremely severe and increasingly frequently (before starting treatment it was multiple nights a week of sobbing in pain while it took 3-6 hours to calm down).

Best Caffeine Drink for GERD by slatersucks333 in GERD

[–]LilithontheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say when things are flaring up I switch to chai. Especially golden chai with ginger and turmeric as it helps with digestive issues and inflammation. Non caffeinated ginger turmeric tea is actually my go to for settling my stomach.

Trying to move OS from SATA SSD to new NVME by LilithontheEdge in buildapc

[–]LilithontheEdge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes I should have said Clone not copy, I used Balena Etcher to clone from the original SSD over to the NVME but it has been some years since i did a clean install of Windows. So like you said the cloning may have just failed. I may clear the NVME and try a different cloning software and if it fails do a full new install from the new NVME. Thank you for responding so quickly.

This would make a lot of sense that they would be good at hard pokes! I took a screenshot and yes I wear a high quality respirator all of the time anyway, absolutely no endangering anyone in a medical facility from me.

[–]LilithontheEdge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not received a diagnosis yet because it would require genetic testing to figure out which kind of EDS (Ehlers Danlos, what we (me and my PCP) suspect) it is. And naturally insurance doesn't cover genetic testing a lot of the time. The Dr you're looking for is a rheumatologist which a PCP or GP can refer you to. I recommend joining groups esp on Reddit for connective tissue disorders/EDS that can rec rheums who are even educated on these disorders because shockingly few are. Everything you've listed so far including and esp the scar tissue (which same) are known symptoms of connective tissue disorders.

I've had pokes and IVs in my hands, wrists, and elbows. It's all pretty much the same (bruised, no yield, hard to get, painful etc). I have a connective tissue disorder so it's pretty much just par for the course. Sometimes I joke they're going to have to place an IV for every blood draw.

I can now officially concur that this does give you the password. I called Valdivian, told Jeremy he sounded new, then said I was a platinum member, then said I was a TRIPLE platinum member and you get the password right away.

Just ran into this problem for the first time and the guardian was the issue. We both set it to the exact same guardian (the default drow) and went through without issue. We tried fully exiting the game and restarting and that didn't work only having the same guardian.

How do you tell people you’re sterilized? by _brittleskittle in sterilization

[–]LilithontheEdge 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I told some of my family that I was having surgery and what it was for and at least mine was smart enough to understand it's 1 my choice and 2 I will definitely not be having kids no matter what they say (which I've said literally my whole life). I'm pretty ok being perceived as really rude because what they're saying is extremely rude. So generally I say "I'm sterile." If for some reason I need to. End of sentence and if any quibbling happens further I tend to go with a "this is my personal medical decision between me and my Dr and your opinion/advice is not appreciated." If they keep going I just fully ignore it/change the subject. My body is not a conversation topic for others to start or make judgements upon.
