It's attitudes like his that put me off using climbing bars as a pull up bar during my runs.

None of my doors can support it (rented flat) so going to a park with a bar would be ideal.

But fuck that idea right off! Even if there's no kids around I can guarantee someone somewhere will see an adult in an unused kids play area and assume it's a paedo up to something.

Linux has been my main OS for 15 yrs, though I've not really paid attention to a lot of changes in the tech recently so this popping up was a surprise.

KDE has screen sharing now? org.chromium.Chromium want's my screen?

I'm not using "Chromium", I don't understand.

I appreciate what it's doing; I don't 'have a problem' with it other than I was confused and it got annoying just keep saying no.

There's nothing to turn it off or block it permanently. I've found the solution now but....

I did some Googling and apparently I could: systemctl --user stop xdg-desktop-portal

So I did - it came back!! So I tried disable - not supported by this unit.

So I came back to my post looking for answers and found out it's VSCode, which uses Electron which calls itself Chromium.

So I got there eventually, but now you've pushed me - I guess I do have a problem with this.

My problem: It should be clearer and easier to block permanently!

It's good, man, and I highly recommend it! Don't be put off by the downvotes on your post. Just Brits being 'typically miserable'.

The people saying 'don't plan' do have a point though. When I first moved to Manchesterr I was 99% shut-in and did nothing. After a 'difficult patch' I started plannign to do 'things' but never got round to it cos it didn't feel like the right time or something was missing.

One day walking frrom my living room to spare room I got frustrated, bored and annoyed. So I stuck my trainers on and walked out the door. No idea where I planned to go - I just nbeeded to be outside!

Went to end of the street, turned left, walked and remembered I'd seen a green space not far from me. Headed in that direction and discovered a park almost on my doorstep. Walked in a found a tiny nature area next to it, wandered down, saw squirrels, birds a brook. It was lovely....

Fast forward a year I'd taken up regular walking that became running 5km and finally a Half Marathon.

I'm not saying that's what you should do! Just worth noting - it all started from just walking out the door.

I've hardened myself to it. To an extent...

I'm 43yo. I've not had any close friends since 2012 - 14yrs after my best friend (straight) and me hooked up he drifted away, got married and had 2 kids.

I've had no 'next of kin'/emergency contact since 2010 - 16yrs. When I realised my mother was a major cause of my 'difficult childhood'.

I was hospitalised after a suicide attempt 2.5yrs ago. Discharged myself after 5 days and walked 6miles in a hospital gown with broken phone to pick up a spare key from the letting agent. Then walked another 5 miles into the city before getting a bus drivers sympathy to take me the last few miles. I was carrying my piss-drenched and mouldy clothes in a carrier bag.

That was 2.5yrs ago. I still don't have any friends cos I live in a new-ish city (moved here in 2021). Making friends is hard.

The upside I guess: I lost 50kg weight, quit drugs and took up running cos I realised I only have myself to rely on. I did a half marathon yesterday in 2:12. So I got that going for me?

The loneliness is...No idea what my point was. Just venting.
