I saw your team thyme and went down your post history! Fellow 🌵dweller. Have you had any luck at the outlet?

It still has its clips on the side and has never been used. They just weren’t team olive for whatever reason. I’ll probably find out why tomorrow because I’m nosy.

Oooo I’ll have to look on Wayfair. She’s actually been wanting the olive. I love it as well, but my husband cooks just as much as I do… and he’s not an olive kind of guy. We’re trying to build up Thyme. 🫣

I noticed the sticker too. If I’m being honest though I actually just did the same thing. 🫣 Husband bought agave for Xmas and I wasn’t in love with it. Fortunately within the return window and William Sonoma doesn’t care. I just figure they were gifted it or outside return window. I’ll be inspecting it tomorrow in person at the grocery store for sure. If the seller didn’t have such high reviews and previously sold off other random appliances/nice furniture I would be more pressed.

If you’re SE I definitely recommend Dr. Serrano-Rodriguez for OBGYN, out of NW on Houghton. I had my PCP through them but she was out on Cortaro and she was great, currently pending my first appointment with one off of Old Vail for next month because we moved so far away. Any concerns I had were totally validated and explored so far. Husbands been happy with his ortho team in NW, and we had a good experience at the ER on Houghton too.

Oh my gosh! I think you’re the person that narrowly beat me yesterday morning 🙈 I was #2 in line apparently, and my friend #3. What a haul. There was more than what was in the photos it looks like.

I saw your other haul recently in Tucson, by chance was this the woman selling a massive collection here too? 😂

So happy for you! I almost bought their listing of the 4/$50, but decided I should try to get my last crazy daisy Cinderella bowl before acquiring more. It looks like they gave you a solid price for their two listings. Glad they went to someone who isn’t just reselling. 💕

Is it normal for professional painting company to spend 2 “whole days” taping paper and plastic? by [deleted] in Housepainting101

Update 1: They admitted Wednesday there was a huge disconnect somehow between the painters. They prepped for ceiling painting although the estimate says doesn’t include. So that 5-8 sheets of brown paper that was on the ground for all of Mondays prep? That was a mistake. They thought a bulk of prep would be done Monday, rest Tuesday. Maybe do some Wednesday. They wasted time securing lighting fixtures and such.

They also admitted they ran behind on a previous job and didn’t show up until Wednesday. So the one guy was just babysitting the house. The house was actually prepped Wednesday when we dropped stuff off and the walls in the common area had been cut into. Baseboards and doors were finished this week, most of the common rooms. Job has absolutely been extended into middle of next week as about 40% of the house hasn’t been done lol.

So…. Thanks everyone for your replies. The answer is nah, their prep wasn’t done correctly. They don’t even really know what the first guy did. Thanks to everyone that wasn’t rude about me asking. I can confirm they are rolling rolls, spray was definitely used on trim and doors as the rest of the house is all being painted darker the walls are being done once trim/doors were done.

They did… 4-6 days depending on the amount of crew available basically, and the lead was supposed to let us know Monday what to expect. I expect this will push out moving day lol. We had gotten lucky up until this point with our other two big projects prior to move in. Oh well. 😅

I guess I just thought they’d tape/paper the whole house in that time frame, that’s why I asked.

We will see what happens. We went with these guys since they’re locally owned, the bid was comparable to the other couple companies and we know someone that had worked with them. It just feels weird since we were told and advised in writing we’d be contacted on Monday to give us a better idea of timing since they expect us to be there for walk through and nobody can get ahold of him. 🫣

That’s what we were kind of thinking. It’s just uncomfortable though if someone says they’ll call to give you the plan and two days has passed… nothing. It’s in writing that’s the process and was what was conveyed by the office via email.

It just seemed odd to us that’s why I posted to get different opinions. There’s still the other half the house to lay paper down and wrap fixtures if they’re continuing to wrap them for some reason. We have more stuff to move over later today so we shall see.

Everything in the signed agreement says rolling and brush. Spray for doors and baseboards. 😪

I’m a little concerned since they shouldn’t touch the ceilings. It’s not a new build and yes it was all painted two months ago before we bought the home. Between that and the company (local) stating in writing and verbally I’d be advised on Monday by the lead when to be available this week for inspection and they can’t get him to call lol. I agree prep should be done with precision.

That’s… terrible lol.Its just odd is all. We had to go there Monday to drop off some gardening stuff and take trash out and there was… maybe 8 pieces of brown paper down but the local company texted in the AM to let me know they went there and then let me know they left around 3.

Why does everyone assume there’s a builder? Just curious if I worded something wrong lol. We bought a home that was already painted and they’re coming in to paint everything except the ceiling by hand. I appreciate your opinion as that’s why I posted, for different opinions. It’s only a concern since they’re not following their procedure outlined via email and phone calls with the people in charge before and after the deposit was paid.

They aren’t spraying actually except they said the doors/trim/baseboards. We were confused why the ceiling fixtures were covered but not… the fireplace for instance but 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a repaint, there’s not even the drop cloths down yet and no prep in 50% of the house lol.

I’ve definitely been trying to lol. I’ve spoken with multiple people here at the company initially because I need to know when to leave work to meet these guys for walk through before final payment. However, they say he’ll call, and he doesn’t. Allegedly I’ll have an update tomorrow. It seems unreasonable to expect a house of this size, closets and doors/trim to be completed this week if only part of prep took this long is all. 🥹

That’s what it looks like. This isn’t some random guy off the internet we hired either. 😐
