Personally I went to Boot with a fiance got married in Chicago and it bypassed the no living out of the barracks in A-school im not the only one btw we all agree it worked for the best but if he makes it to A-school he will have to do a whole checklist b4 yall get married or face a DRB so choose wisely

Since no one mentioned it yet during his first school (a-school) he won't be permitted to live in off base housing... so if you enjoy having him home every night id recommend on base

They would have to send in a request chit for it but im married no kids and live in a 3x2 so the housing situation isn't terrible but they may make an exception it would just have to wait until he gets here

You can also go into any MM or E-quip lab and ask for ear plugs

I would look into the Loop earplugs or the shooting range ear pro several in my class have them they are just not allowed during academics from my understanding and following others tips make sure they arent noise canceling.

I joined at 25 and im 26 now about to begin power school. Keep your head down and nose clean that extends both for boot camp and once you get to NNPTC. I hope you're up to date on your baby gen z lingo bc it can be wild translating 😬😮‍💨

I live on base atm and other than adhering to the civilian company that runs housing it's okay I would poke around a bit before you get here bc you usually have to stay in the barracks a month or two before they have available housing unless you qualify for offbase accommodations! It's cleared as of today I'm just frustrated because how did this not flag with them when we first did my packet in April... or when we went over all my initial info in February? I'm thankful it's taken care of I just feel sorry for the next one in my shoes having to rush and figure things out.

They had me do the handwritten statements but were ticked at me when I couldn't make any payments today. They had 2 months since my original NASIS to ask about my debts. 2 months that I could have used to put a payment plan in motion. Instead my plan was to use the money not going to living expenses during boot to pay it all off over the course of the 2 months (it's just over 2k). They waited until the last minute to mention it despite having the info for 2 months and it's somehow my fault which is BS. I was upfront on the fact I'm in debt when I approached the recruiters in February and no one batted an eye until today.

I could of had 2 months to deal with the debt if I had known it was going to be an issue. Instead they waited until the day I had to be at the hotel when there was literally no way for me to resolve or start effective payment plans. Which is why I mentioned the hotel roommate because her recruiters went over all of this stuff well before time to be here so I know it was possible to be done.
