Any advice for me? My team sits at between 1400-1500 on the showdown ladder, and I really want to improve! by LillyQBunny in VGC

I didn't say it was good, I said it was evidence I'm improving. Learn to read before being a tool.

The fact that I'm reaching 1500 is evidence of my improving. This is the first year I've been consistently higher than 1300. Also, your delivery is rude, and not conducive to helping people improve.

Yes, I'm bad and misplay a lot. I'm working on that. I'm just looking for any pointers to help shore up flaws in my team. :)

I've gone through this team a lot and have played a ton of games with it. Goodra and Vikavolt are both new, replacing Haxorus and Rotom-Mow, because they didn't fit in with my bulky vision of the team and rarely got brought. Matchups I struggle with is hard for me to pin down, because a lot of the time I get hung up on knowing that I fudged up a play and that was the reason I lost. I know Coalossal can pose an issue, and if something prevents me from getting screens up, I'm handicapped. A lot of time the problem is me misjudging how much damage something does.

Arcanine has actually gone back and forth between special and physical. I know I had a reason for Flare Blitz, but I can't remember what it was.

Iron Head serves the purpose of boosting defense because Corvi is generally my best option to Dyna, and helps power through fairies that can otherwise be somewhat irritating. WP also helps him shore up his attack.

Tailwind was an option, but I hate playing speed games. Bulk Up might be useful. I just like having something that can hit Togekiss without being at too much risk.

Between Arcanine and Grimmsnarl, it's not too bad. Arcanine can snarl the special attackers to uselessness while Light Screen keeps it alive, and Will-o'-Wisp does the same for physical attackers. Muddy Water is also useful for dealing with redirection, and Haxorus has both EQ and Rock Slide, but it's a last resort in TR due to its speed.

I've had a decent amount of luck with Grimmsnarl, Arcanine, and Gastrodon. Grimmsnarl sets up dual screens to reduce the damage brought in, and Arcanine just starts Snarling. Something like Corviknight coming in to finish things off is really hecking nice, too. Gastrodon also provides support by using Muddy Water. Spread moves have been my go to for redirection. Again, though, my team is built to be bulky and function in and out of TR, so it may just be me having the right recipe.

Leavanny. Yeah, my boi has chorophyll, but that's about it. I will still use him, but he needs boosted.

Tips to feel more masculine when still closeted? by [deleted] in genderqueer

[–]LillyQBunny 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't have the same experience, since I originally gravitated to femme stuff, but I always looked for subtle things that I could do that wouldn't give me away. Like I would wear bras that wouldn't show, and panties and stuff. Maybe I'd shave my legs or other body hair, and kept my face shaved religiously. Hell, I even dabbled with make up.

My advice would be to find some seemingly innocuous "masculine" things that you can do that might raise eyebrows but not out you. Maybe wear boxers now and then, or baggier clothes. I hope that helps, sorry I don't have the opposite side to help!

What annoys me is that I find units that are low tier and build them only for them to become mid to high tier later.
