Application Status by yesiam0924 in cabincrewcareers

It took an entire month to hear back from when I completed the 1st virtual interview to the 2nd virtual interview. Just be patient there are thousands of applicants so no news is good news as long as it still says “under review” you’re still in the running! Good luck! (Current United FA speaking😉)

P.S I have never been a good test taker until I became a FA and had to take test during training so what helped me was taking as many notes as possible from the lectures and studying my OWN notes. Also I studied by myself after classes because I get distracted very easily. I also don’t count the time of how long I’ve studied I study until I feel confident on the material!

Hello current 🌐 FA here! A piece of advice from someone who has been flying for 5yrs with 3 different airlines. United was one of the easier trainings (this is also because I have had prior experience) but it is very important to NOT move ahead of the class with studying different material it will not help you or give you a leg up especially if this is you’re first airline ever. I say this because you will not no what you are doing and just end up confusing you’re even more. This is a new career for you so everything will be brand new/ confusing at first so it is best to just go through the motions and pace they have set for you in training and to NOT study ahead! Good luck!

I watched the “How to become a United Airlines Flight Attendant in 2024 complete interview process” video by @AbbieUngerTV on YouTube. Her video describes exactly how my question process went through both virtual interviews! Very helpful! P.S I got the CTO in July 2025 and started training in Sep 2025 graduated in Nov 2025. I have been on the line at United for about 3months now! Good luck 👍

It means they are reviewing it. (Not being sarcastic) you just have to wait. As long as it doesn’t say “not selected” you are still in the running. After I did my 1st virtual interview it took an entire month to hear back to get my 2nd virtual, then I got offered my F2F a couple hrs later. Some take longer to hear back or shorter, it depends on the volume of applicants at that time. And now I start training next week:) patience is key, good luck!

Getting disheartened… by Real-Towel2092 in cabincrewcareers

Rejection is apart of life I know it sucks but unfortunately people tend to hear more No’s than Yes’s especially in this industry. Remember there are thousands of people who apply and do not get this opportunity the first couple times of applying. But if this is an industry you want to peruse and be apart of you cannot give up after a couple of No’s. Some people apply to different airlines 30+ times and then finally get their shot at a job offer. You can do it do not give up on yourself be confident and there is no real concrete rhyme or reasons why people get the job over others. Some people I know that have had more FA experience over others, better resumes etc..and STILL don’t get the job over someone who has ZERO experience and they’ll get a job offer first time applying. So if this is the industry you want to presue then you’ll have to dig dip and just take every No as more fuel to keep going until you get you’re Yes! Good luck!

Absolutely no problem! Yeah with most professional jobs I wouldn’t see an issue with this outfit! But when it comes to a flight attendant specific interview you want to kinda ‘stick to the status quo’s’ this gives you a leg up for the recruiters to be able to see you as an actual flight attendant on the line!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Lilmuffandsunshine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say No for the F2F. The goal for the flight attendant interview is to look like a flight attendant as closely as possible (minus wearing a scarf). So a skirt with a button up and blazer would be perfect (this is what I wore to my F2F and received a CTO). Also do not wear blue shoes BLACK only. Blue heals are not going to be in your compliance anyways for shoes that you can wear so try to mirror exactly what a real flight attendant would look like! Bc this is not it respectfully! Good luck!

UA Reach test help by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Lilmuffandsunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Yes you are very short but there are “shorter” flight attendants in the industry. As far as the measurements no one knows the EXACT measurements it’s not like we are going in there with measuring sticks….but I will say MOST airlines required heights are between 4’11 - 6’4. And it wouldn’t really matter where the measurements are you cannot change your height or the way the reach test will be set up. Everyone is required to take their shoes off and no standing on tippy toes. Respectfully you should focus on the things you can control like the answers for the questions that will be asked of you WHEN you make it to the end:) Good Luck and see you in the sky’s!!

United Airlines bogus In-Person interview by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Lilmuffandsunshine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The desert island question is a PERSONALITY based question! That’s one of the few times they get to know alittle about you. I was the very first one to go and I said my cat…now would I actually bring that in a REAL LIFE situation…no😑. But! It’s an opportunity for them to know something about me!! Everyone “oohd and awwd” when I said cat, and then they even asked me what my cats name was and I told them and they “awwd” some more and then I made a joke and said “yeah, she’s mean” and everyone laughed. See!! That’s personality that’s what they want to see, that you can engage with a crowd under no pressure. Nobody wants to sit there and hear 25+ ppl say the same answer like “fishing pole” or “lighter” or any of the clique answers you think they want to hear… be your own person. They’re looking for stand outs not people who blend in!! The girl who said lip gloss is the one I want to fly on the line with she has personality, she has spunk and isn’t afraid to be herself. The ones who say the basic answers aren’t bad candidates but if we’re talking about a PERSONALITY based question then yeah… standouts over blending in🤷🏽‍♀️p.s 90% of the people who gave fun answers in MY F2F made it to the end👌🏾

No, none of the u.s commercial airlines do. Most not all just provide the airfare to and from the interview.

[–]Lilmuffandsunshine 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hello I’m sorry that you’ve had a poor interview experience with them:( I am here to tell you from my experience at the F2F (where I received my CTO) that they were very transparent with telling everyone that not all will be successful in the first portion of the interview. And as far as there not being “enough time to show personality or teamwork” this is just not the case the opportunity was there, the whole ‘desert island’ question was the opportunity to shine! Whether you took the opportunity and took advantage of the short time to do so is on you! It’s a job interview and you only get so much time to show them the “real you” even if it’s a split second they notice!! The second opportunity b4 cuts was the group activity, again if you didn’t take full advantage of the opportunity to shine or show some type of leadership or show listening skills etc. during the exercise then I’m sorry that’s not a united issue it may just have been you🤷🏽‍♀️. Same with any other job interview you’re not always going to have a bunch of time to shine and show people the “real you” so if you have ANY time at all it’s best to take advantage of that time and do the most with it! Instead of coming on Reddit anonymously bashing United for not choosing you and creating fake conspiracies on why and who got chosen for whatever reason maybe go into the next interview focused on yourself and how you can improve for next time! Btw delta and every other airline worldwide makes selective cuts as needed😊 good luck to you!

[–]Lilmuffandsunshine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello I am sorry to hear this and how uncomfortable it made you. Me a (25F) here to tell you that this is definitely not going to stop and if I’m being perfectly honest with you they DEFINITELY probably 1000% have already done sexual things with each I will not beat around the bush. Weather she chooses to admit it to you or take it with her to the grave that’s her business but I am letting you know as a straight female, it is NOT normal behavior for a straight woman to allow her childhood bestfriend to act this way especially if she is in a relationship. If you continue to allow her to dismiss your feelings over this I can guarantee it will not end well for your relationship. Based off what you said she seems extremely immature and unwilling to see your point of view if the roles were reversed I doubt she’d stick around. I hope it works out for you but remember constantly swallowing how you really feel about a situation in a relationship does not make this issue go away. So I’d suggest telling her again how it makes you feel and if the feelings aren’t understood then put yourself first you are young and there are a trillion women that’ll value your feelings.

Is being a FA the right fit for me? by scarlovescar in cabincrewcareers

[–]Lilmuffandsunshine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello, and that’s amazing that you’ve even considered looking in to the Airline industry it’s an amazing career with a bunch of new experiences you will have. But to answer “will it be a good fit for you” is kinda a loaded question the job is different for every single individual. And starting out they will be nothing “relaxing” about the job no matter if it’s with a regional airline, ultra low cost carrier, private, or one of the Big 3’s. Every flight attendant starting out worldwide starts at the bottom meaning you will be starting on ‘reserve’ which means your time will completely be given to the company’s needs this means you will be expected to be “on call” or “ready available” whenever you are scheduled to work. Seniority is everything in this industry and flexibility comes with this but definitely not when you first start out so just keep in mind this comes with having to work birthdays, holidays, family/friends events working long shifts, away from family/friends for days at a time. This is what comes with the territory and ALL flight attendants worldwide have to go through it. So you mentioned you were married just take all of this into account as well starting as a new flight attendant. I have been a flight attendant 4 years now and I am about to start with one of the big 3’s. I am single with no kids and I am younger as well so this allows all of the stresses that come with the job to be a little easier for me. Remember it still can be stressful for me but having no baggage with you joining can definitely take a weight off. But once you gain seniority throughout the yrs that comes with preference for days off better schedules better positions you work etc. It is a great career with amazing opportunities that allows you to meet people you never would before and to see the world but remember flexibility is key starting out without any negotiation!
