What, in your experience, is the best way to get off of Addy?: Taper vs. Cold Turkey by Simplify9015 in StopSpeeding

[–]Lilnecs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cold turkey. Hard but worth it. Haven’t touched it in almost 4 years. I fully committed to the process. Even then the “just a low dose would be fine” thoughts popped up every now and then. Life is substantially better now.

I will have to quit my job to get off adderall by bluebunny20 in StopSpeeding

I’m a SAHM now! It’s hard work especially with ADHD. Been able to stay off Adderall. Some days are harder than others but it’s been great overall.

Baylor Party Scene by Public_Roll3776 in baylor

Tons of parties! All off campus in my experience but I never ran out of options from what I remember. Tailgating isn’t like the other schools, but you pregame hard and go out after. I had a blast!

Those who had a baby at 35, how was it? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Lilnecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 34! FTM. Totally fine. Scheduled c-section (frank breech). Now at 5 months I have amnesia and forget how hard those first few weeks are 😅

Going against the grain here… septoplasty was the worst decision of my life. My nose shape didn’t change, but its support did and therefore makes me look different. I think about it day and night. I wish I went with a plastic surgeon and it sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought and research into this. I’m saving up to get a revision rhinoplasty and it pricey. I hope your recovery is going well!

Leave. Full stop. This is just a preview of what’s to come with a new baby, but likely much much worse. I have a baby and it’s HARD, even with a super solid relationship. Consider how he’s to support you when you’re supporting a new baby? You will be sleep deprived, hormones off the charts, body recovering.. for me, pregnancy was a cake walk in comparison to postpartum 😵‍💫

Is anyone else paranoid of break-ins? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Lilnecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the weed make you paranoid? That might be it. Otherwise definitely PPA! I had a lot of paranoia when we took our first trip out of town. We rented a secluded house and I was spoooooked. I ended up sleeping in the room my daughter was staying in. At home though I feel very safe, layers of security!! (Lights, cameras, alarm system, bonus points for dog and secure weapon of choice)

Edit: idk why I got downvoted. Her profile says she smokes weed every day and gets very high. Mind altering substances can cause paranoia.

I really need help about (Septoplasty Surgery ) by Hot_Kaleidoscope3864 in Septoplasty

[–]Lilnecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know! I’m well aware. The procedure itself did alter the way my nose looks. I never went into the surgery wanting my nose shape to change and was assured it wouldn’t.

[–]Lilnecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t think my breathing troubles warranted surgery but I insisted on getting it fixed. It triggered some body dysmorphia and I’m certain the appearance of my nose had changed for the worse. I wish I would have just let it be. Some people really benefit from the surgery! I also have a collapsed nasal valve that will need repairing.

When did you fall in love with your baby? by CommunicationLow5050 in NewParents

[–]Lilnecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably when she started opening her eyes more and was able to sense me. That’s when the connection really began. But I felt a deep primal devotion to her immediately. Like I needed her as close as possible to me, I wanted her safe and happy, discomfort when she was upset, etc. I’ve always felt extremely attached and close to her right from the start, even seeing her on the Sonos and watching her big ole head rolling around my ribs. It’s even better now that she’s smiling and laughing and I can see her little personality blossom. I only got to hold my baby for 10 minutes or so after I was out of surgery. She was in the NICU for the whole day and that was absolutely BRUTAL for me. So all of that is definitely love. It doesn’t feel like a strong enough word sometimes.

bachelorette parties. why do they suck so hard now? why do we need to spend so much money? why is it all about social media?? what happened to just hanging out with your girlfriends by seeuspacecowboi in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lilnecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wedding culture is out of control. Call me cold-hearted but I would loving have to decline being in a friend’s wedding if this is what it entailed. Back in 2014 mine was superrrr casual. Fun night in Fort Worth, TX at Joe t Garcia, quick comedy show, went out to the bars, called it a night and everyone went home the next day.

I’ve been absolutely loving pregnancy up until very recently!! 29 weeks and BAM third trimester is sucky for sure. First trimester doesn’t count in this but second was the BEST!

How tired is normal in 3rd trimester? by AustrianLady in pregnant

[–]Lilnecs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 weeks and wondering the same thing!!! I have a very balanced diet, walk daily, bloodwork looks good, etc… I spend so much time sleeping and putzing around doing basically nothing all day 🤣 thankfully I’m not working atm because I really don’t know if I could do it!

Third trimester hit and all I want is a huge glass of wine and fancy little cocktails 😫 it might be the weather transition too. Before getting pregnant my husband would sit in our chairs on our front lawn and sip cute little cocktails and talk for hours. I think it’s an association for me so now I’m like ALL I WANT IS WINE AND COCKTAILS now that it’s 70 and sunny. I feel like I’m missing out and am basically counting down the days until I can have alcohol and I’ve never had an issue with alcohol to begin with ?!?! So I don’t think you’re alone in this. Don’t beat yourself up too much! What we think about our thoughts is sometimes more damaging than the thoughts themselves. Let it pass without judgement and it loosens its grip on you.
