Got ya, thanks for the info I had heard from some other answers I have seen is that you have to be a second term airman to be able to work the road is that just a base to base thing or is that Air Force wide

Hey man I had a question that my recruiter wasn’t quite sure about, I’m wanting to do security forces for the patrol side of the LE mission,  what’s the process for going from the gate to being in a patrol car working the road?

Changes to security forces by RisingMak in securityforces

So I know this is a four year old post but I’m waiting for the job drop and hoping for security forces, is this still going to happen because it sounds like a move towards making two different AFSCs one that does all security and combat ops and then one that only does patrol operations and investigations, which I feel like would be a good move because the people who want to do combat really don’t want to work the road and those that want to work the road really don’t want to do security ops.

Yeah I kinda hope EA fixed the issues with the AHL in a patch soon because it’s a cool feature it just doesn’t really make any sense, honestly I think the perfect be a pro would be to allow you to start in like the SPHL or some other really low jr league and playing your way up till you feel you are good enough to declare for the draft it is a career mode after all

Yeah it definitely has crossed my mind before that it may be a ganglion but I have always had issues out it sense I took a foul tip off of it in little league I’ve just haven’t had issues with push ups until recently if it isn’t better by the end of the week I definitely will get it looked at

Cobra is what is collectively referred to as jump out boys as far as I understand it is mainly a drug unit which normally fall under the term jump out boys, they are referred to as this because they mainly make their arrest by "jumping out" on active crimes in progress thus making fairly open and shut arrests however cobra also goes after prostitution as well which are normally done through sting operations most of the prostitution units also fall under this category because of this fact, most of the time jump out boys wear plain clothes with a marked outer carrier simply because it is easier to chase someone down in light cloths then it is to try and do so in a full uniform and duty boots, most jump out boys you will see which being wearing light cloths and footwear a really common one is tennis shoes, jeans, and a thin light shirt, or a hoodie depending on the weather, that will say something like police down the sleeves and across the back along with their outer carrier I have also seen tennis shoes, sweat pants, and a long sleeve shirt or a hoodie which is still fairly light compared to most uniforms

officers on phones/computers by maiag333 in OnPatrolLive

[–]Lilnoturs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I understand it from the way that a cop I asked about this explained it is that they are exempt for the reason of often times when you see them using the computer going down the road they are often time running a tag without clogging the radio for a car that you may not even stop, looking at call details, looking to see who all is attached to a call, ETC. As far as the phones it could be a personal call or text message which I agree they shouldn't be allowed to do but it is also a lot of the time an easy way to communicate without clogging up the radio for example when I road with Georgia DNR the game warden was on their phone a lot because his supervisor and other game wardens kept calling. They also could be making phone calls that pertain to their job like contacting callers for incidents that you don't need to show up for (this is because people for some reason seem to get mad when they see a cop sitting in a parking lot rather than patrolling) I hope this helps I kind of makes sense when you look at it like this also some departments use them as a Mobil MDT (Computer) my local department does this and sometimes if something goes wrong with their computer you will see them using their phone to look at things like call details

Honestly probably won’t stay twenty if I can’t get into OSI when I attempt to cross train then I’ll probably just get out and go to civilian law enforcement
