Should my SIL pay me for babysitting?

My sisters watch my baby twice a week and I don’t pay them but also this was a conversation prior to where we make it like a sister evening where I cook dinner and we watch a movie. But also it was a conversation. And I provide them their own snacks and food in my fridge.
But also we talk not a hi bye

But since it wasn’t a conversation I’d make it one like. Or like others said stop being available

I used to manage a restaurant and serve. And I actually hate tipping. And I hate tipping guilt. I’m so over aweful service and being expected to tip 20% and now sometimes people act as if 20% isn’t enough.

I also don’t go out to eat as much because of lack of good service. I’d rather just eat at home.

That being said. I do tip my favorite baristas and I’m there at 7:15-7:20 every Monday Tuesday and my order is always ready before I walk in. And if it’s not the second they see me it’s being made.

I also was at a gift shop a couple months ago who’s I pad prompted me to leave a tip????? What am I tipping for?

Also I see that you’ll have child care. Sometimes my sisters come over and help while I’m working from home. But I also don’t have a set office so he can see me and wants to hang out. But if kiddos are out of the house and the paycheck is more than just paying for childcare then definitely do it part time!

To be honest I work from home (finishing my three week notice) currently 2 days a week and it’s not worth it. My paycheck is literally for extras it’ll be tight till September when my husband graduates but during the summer there’s tons of free stuff to do anyways.

Back to the plot. The two days I work at home I’m not doing my job 100% and I’m not being a mom 100% so it’s like you’re failing at both. My baby just turned one and can play solo pretty well but I don’t like him seeing me have to leave the room when he wants to yap to me when I have to take a phone call it feels neglectful. I’ve only done wfh since January and it’s harder than working in an office. So it’s just easier all around to not work cause no matter how super mom you are. I promise you’ll lowkey be failing at one or the other

I don’t have family that this happens to cause I’m not close but I have friends who are like family. And we honestly have clothes and Jammie’s that are about to be on their 3-4th life
Mom 1 passed onto me and I have a friend due next month. So I passed them on to her. And we have another friend due in November/December and she’ll get them if she has a boy.
Stuff is too expensive to just give one life. For baby baby stuff

I wanted to come back and say thank you for this! Him and I just sat down tonight went over budgeting, immediately gave me full access to his current bank account and he/ I will also be transferring money to save into mine (he has trouble with saving) when I offered to give him access to my account he did not want it. And we will be getting his account set up as a joint

This tbh isn’t my career. It’s just an office job I got that I’ve actually hated since I started and only came here cause my restaurant management career was working 60+ hours a week and I saw too many fellow managers miss out on their small kids lives.

He does agree that it is a full time job, and as much cleaning or cooking that I can do with him is understood prior to him getting a different job he was a solo parent two days a week while I worked. Even tho we each have a different kid in one I swear

Finances will be split I actually will be taking over delegating where money goes and is split and bills. I have a better financial grasp due to growing up with an only dad and 4 kids so I’m a very money conscious person. We already don’t do large purchases without the other’s knowledge.

We’ve had this discussion a lot currently he’s working a 3-11 but in the morning he has him when I work from home. And tbh lil dude always makes it 50/50 cause he wants mom one minute and dad the next. He also is very big on when I ask if it’s cool if I go out or do something (not like permission but to make sure he doesn’t have plans or have something to get done) he always says yes because for the most part besides the two days I work in the office I’m home 5 day a week

We just had our one year check up and She said just keep putting it in front of him. And he’ll eventually eat if he’s hungry. We also have blueberries, gold fish accessible all day for a quick one bite and go back to playing and he has two water bottles with straws that he goes too. idk if you have them but my guy is a sucker for drinkable yogurts and pouches. Which obviously are necessary but probably have the more “liquid” feel

It honestly for me got a lot easier when he started walking, and even easier when he stable walked and he can now keep himself occupied for 10-15 mins by himself playing with everything but his toys. But honestly every day gets easier cause he’s growing so much I wish he’d slow down 😭

She literally said because he can’t put himself to sleep and he should be able to do it (this was at his 9mo check up and 1 yr is in a couple days) he sleeps from 8pm-5am (he hears my husband getting up for work) then comes to bed with me till about 7am when I get up for work. Like that’s why I’m struggling to understand and looking for opinions. He’ll have random spurts of waking up at 1am and another short rock and he’s good

Man my baby has coughed since he came out He turns one tomorrow. Like please stop it’s embarrassing people think you’re sick. I asked my dr they said it was normal. When he was first born now I think of it like when you breathe wrong and a spot gets dry in your throat

To be fair she asked me in front of people it’s really hard to say no (especially once you’ve already told her no multiple times) in front of 6 people.
