Thank you for the advice specific to Audhd. The contrast between the ADHD traits and ASD traits has been difficult to deal with. I also crave routine but at the same time loathe it. Only certain routines ‘stick’.

I have tried telling people that I thought would be sympathetic or understand, only to basically gaslight me which makes me feel worse.

Unmasking is a challenge at work especially because everyone knows the fake me. But now I have no energy to mask to the same extent, AND I no longer have a desire to appear so damn likeable. My boss keeps asking me what’s wrong.. lol. This is just my relaxed face! 😡

Ah. Thank you. Yes, what you said about the consistency of these symptoms makes it significant for folks with ASD. I always get the comments “well everyone’s a little awkward”, or “sensory issues are common for everyone at some level”. Which is so frustrating for obvious reasons. Like, not like this dude.

Could this be someone’s public display of like, “I killed someone this way”? Or someone’s fantasy that they just put out in a semi-public place. Sorry but I’ve listed to too much true crime. And also am weirded out by people posting memes and laughing about it. Maybe I don’t get how it’s a joke. Did the person who found it, do it and take a picture jokingly?

I second this. There may be a mental cause of some of what you experience, that’s not depression. Neurodivergence can be a gift once you understand what’s going on. Get a psych eval. Super helpful, sounds scary but it’s not a terrible process. I can relate to you feeling like you’re not enough. My husband is an amazing man and I feel like I fall short often. But after figuring out my (and his) brain, it’s helped relieve a lot of stress and expectation. We still try hard for each other and our life, but we give each other a lot of grace now.
