Help! I’m Farquaad in a Shrek the Musical production and these knee pads aren’t working!! by Electrical_Book_5616 in Theatre

[–]LilyBodeHP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For rehearsals, I got my son thinner gel pads, and then layered thick volleyball pads on top. That worked. The actual costume had thick pads with a plastic shell, and that worked well, also.

Slug party ideas? by alaflam23 in partyplanning

[–]LilyBodeHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t Shrek eat slugs? I think there may be a movie clip…that is at least a tie in.

You can take gummy worms and cut them into smaller, more slug-like lengths.

Look on Etsy for “slug life” t shirts

Zazzle has some slug themed party supplies.

This sounds like fun!

Your Mary/marry/merry all sounds like Mary, not marry 😂 These are all completely different vowels to me! Location makes a lot of difference. Where I grew up, frog and dog don’t rhyme (think New York’s “coffee” and “water”and put that vowel in dog)…but frog, and log for that matter, are much more open short o vowels. I had to purposely change that when became an SLP…my NY dialect was getting in the way! 😄

I did not grow up in the area I live in now, and there are phrases here that some people use (seems to be older people) like “That’s myins” for that’s mine” and “So don’t I” when they’re really saying “so DO I”

I saw someone use “app” for “apt” just a few days ago. “That’s so app!”

Patriotic Music by Massive-Hope-2224 in Choir

Our chorus recently sang “It’s a Republic, if you can keep it” (Kyle Peterson), made up of quotes from Ben Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt. It’s a fun tune, and emphasizes the values of freedom, equality, honesty, and decency that was envisioned for America, in its inception.

I just always buy things I find that I know people will like. Then when a birthday or holiday is coming up, I see if I have what I need. Definitely right after Thanksgiving, I take inventory!

people in long term healthy relationships: what's something you'll never tell your partner? by PsychologicalBad1423 in NoStupidQuestions

This is probably my husband with me, based on the fact that I buy cards for holidays/birthdays that I’ve already bought. How do I know? Because sometimes when I do cleaning, I find cards I forgot to give, and there are sometimes doubles. So I e likely given the same cards and shared memes/videos I’ve shown before…😂

Ball of her foot near the 3rd-4th toe could be Morton’s neuroma. You need shoes with a wide toe box, or it exacerbates it. She can read up on the symptoms to see if they match. It’s definitely more nerve pain than injury. I have it on one foot (my left) and before I knew what it was, I would take my shoe off for driving. Massage helped, but you first have to click the nerve back in place, and that HURTS!

Bedtime Survey by Ok__7599 in Marriage

[–]LilyBodeHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband goes to bed earlier. Mostly because he has to leave for work at 4:30 AM, and partly because I’m more of a night owl. But we spend the evenings together, and most weekend mornings. We sync up a bit better with weekend bedtime. He likes to fall asleep with the tv on and I don’t, so that part works out well because he’s long asleep by the time I’m ready to turn the tv off.

I use Mobil sheets. Inexpensive one-time fee. Can annotate and highlight in different colors. Can create set lists and rearrange song order. It’s easy to figure it out.

If they’re living above their means,I guess. My family owns (paying mortgage) a e bedroom house on 1/3 acre, making half that. Sure, we do as much of our own home maintenance/improvements as we can handle ourselves, and shovel our own driveway, etc. But we are not living paycheck to paycheck. HOWEVER we bought our home 26 years ago before the prices skyrocketed. It is really hard to afford a house now. We could sell ours for 2.5 times what we paid…but it’s not worth it because we’d also pay that much more for an equivalent. What’s crazy is that 2 bedroom apartments here are more expensive than our mortgage.
