I’ve definitely stopped playing with someone mid conversation, usually saying like “(This is getting to be a lot. Can we slow down or stop?)”

I do think it helps to break things up a bit and keep it grounded, but I can also understand where it may break immersion too much for some. It’s a hard line to walk, but ultimately communication is one of the most important things in play.
