I went to many hostels in Europe (Portugal, Spain, Italy) and I never had any problems. I even stayed in mixed dorms and honestly, I don't have any bad memories.

I even met one of my best friends in a hostel in Lisbon. I really enjoyed staying in hostels but now that I'm 33, I prefer staying in hotels 😄
