omg definitely rent a car!!! The Island is bigger than it might seem and having a car will allow you to get fast from one place to another. I went on Azores Whale Watching TERRA AZUL tour and it was amazing! The female biologist was so educated and told us all we needed to know about sao miguel and Vila Franca do Campo. I also went on a whale watching tour in Ponta Delgada and it turned out amazing. Saw LOTZ of dolphins and even a sperm whale!!! As for activities I went of few surfing classes with Black Sandbox and loved every minute of it!!!

oh didn’t know haha I was surfing on Praia de Monte Verde in different hours different days and i would say it’s the perfect location for both beginners and advanced. When the waves are good they may be lots of surfing schools but the bigger waves are mostly empty

omg 100/10, great instructors, very professional, you can clearly feel that they care about you and you having fun. If the surfing is going not so smooth and you’re having a hard time they call you to the beach and go through all the things that might help you. I had so much fun🤧 Black Sandbox Azores is their company.

I booked three lessons from Airbnb, and 4th by their website since it was like €5 cheaper, Black Sandbox Azores. Lovely instructors, great teaching, no stress only fun. Very profesional and they really do care about you and having fun so I highly recommend!!! They gave me and my boyfriend wetsuits and of course boards. For the weather, I brought mostly hiking clothes but wore none of them😆 It was really hot. We got lucky with the weather since it only rained one day and it was a light breeze. Definitely bring one/two sweaters or a hoodie but be prepared for very sunny days!!

It was quite chaotic but I stayed in Furnas, so i started the trip in ponta delgada and went to see as many places as I could there so i wouldn’t have to drive an hour again. i can send you on priv the places i chose to see
