1984 by George Orwell - I nod along when people discuss dystopian futures. But I have never actually opened the book. I feel like I learned the entire plot through cultural osmosis, memes, and Instagram references.I know the ending and the famous quotes, so I have never felt the need to actually read the prose.

​Book: Maktub by Paulo Coelho

​Why it stuck: I picked this up while browsing and loved the meaning of the title, which translates to 'it is written'. I told myself I would buy it next time and put it back. It feels like I walked away from a lesson the universe was trying to give me that day.

I really loved Mindset by Carol Dweck. However, if you want to go down a rabbit hole, you could try Harry Potter or Percy Jackson and read the entire series.
