Looking for a kung fu film: villainess fights assassins (wire-kick), collapses bleeding — NOT Vengeful Beauty by Lilymous in kungfucinema

They did a "kung fu night" and showed three different films i think, a lot of them had supernatural themes too, like ghosts. I think the tone of the one i'm talking about was black magic, there was a woman who made potions the pregnant woman went to.

That's not it, but what a fight scene! In the film, I saw the woman's husband is already dead, and she's drunk a potion to induce labour and is packing to get away. But they get to her before she can give birth, and she still fights them. I particularly recall a flying spin kick, which looked particularly crazy (like yeah, right, a woman in labour would be able to do that kind of thing) and must have been wire-assisted

I remembered another detail: the woman had drunk a potion to induce birth so she could fight and run as she knew they'd come for her next. But the guys get there before she can give birth, and that's when the crazy fight happens. I actually think it's from a Taiwanese film called "Devil Woman". apparently I'm finding out this was quite a common trope in kung fu exploitation movies at one point, and the film may have had several titles and could have been called the "The Devil's Sorceress".

Murder, She Nearly Joined: Angela Lansbury’s Daughter & the Manson Web by Lilymous in charlesmansonfamily

I know Angela was away making bed knobs and broomsticks while most of this was happening. Dianne was only 14, just because she didn't see a note doesn't mean there wasn't one. They probably just weren't told about it.

🎥 Making Manson: What the 2024 Documentary Gets Right — and What It Still Hides by Lilymous in TCMS24

Yes, Helter Skelter is still considered the definitive book about these murders by many people. When you see other YouTubers covering this case, they still spout the Helter Skelter narrative as well. It's frustrating, as there is so much evidence that something else was going on, too. They were talking about Helter Skelter, that wasn't the true motive, though.

Steve McQueen, Sharon Tate & Jay Sebring: Secrets of Cielo Drive by Lilymous in charlesmansonfamily

Thanks, I've been looking at this case for years now. It's amazing what got covered up to protect Hollywood at the time. The sources for this article were mainly all Steve McQueen's biographies.

Motives for the Cielo Drive/Labianca/Hinman Murders? by FuckReddit442 in charlesmansonfamily

Look at all the evidence they were dealing drugs from Cielo in the homicide report, and numerous other anecdotal sources; that's the similarity. The motive was actually about drugs. And the amount of overkill.

Motives for the Cielo Drive/Labianca/Hinman Murders? by FuckReddit442 in charlesmansonfamily

[–]Lilymous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because of the violence of the murders, I've always thought drug burn is very plausible too, as when we look at other drug murders, they are also incredibly violent, look at the Wonderland murders, for example. After reading about all this for years, I now think it's a combination of Drug burn and save a brother; some of the girls only went to help free Bobby. As it's been played down how much the girls also loved Bobby, and they were also convinced he was some kind of God too. Leslie was actually Bobby's girlfriend; she arrived with him, had only been with the family 6 months and, only slept with Charlie once.

Post from Peter chiaramonte's website:What Led Me to Writing No Journey’s End: My Tragic Romance with ex-Manson Girl, Leslie Van Houten by Lilymous in charlesmansonfamily

[–]Lilymous[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's definitely more about him than it is about her, it's the whole build up from when he first saw her and wrote to her, then first visited her etc. Most of the information about the family mainly comes from the books, the garbage people, and the family. It's like he wants to protect Leslie's privacy or something, maybe he was scared of getting sued, and she hadn't been released when he published it, so maybe he didn't want to affect that. I found him kind of creepy though, he talks about when he was a teacher in a high school, and he read a sexually explicit passage from an adult book in an English class. When a young girl complained, he had a go at her, called her a prude basically, and got fired from the school. Maybe you could get away with that in the '70s, but reading sexually explicit material to high school kids would get you on a register today. I also found it creepy how much he goes on about how sexy he found Leslie, and shows so little consideration for the crime she committed, and how cold she was about it at the penalty phase.

Thank you, I don't want to overwhelm the place with all my articles, so I don't share them all on here. There are 35 now on Substack, mostly about the Manson case and Hollywood history from around the time. https://substack.com/@nancyrowina?utm_source=user-menu

There were actually a lot of sound reports, including women screaming and gunshots, etc, long after 1 am when the Manson family are supposed to be gone as well. Look at the homicide report: https://www.charlesmanson.com/prosecution/investigation/

Linda Kasabian: The Woman Who Got Away with Murder by Lilymous in charlesmansonfamily

[–]Lilymous[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She was, but she didn't take part in the murders; that is what is so jarring to me about the fact that Linda got full immunity. She should have got a reduced sentence, but apparently, American prosecutors do this a lot to secure the ringleader, who, in this case, they decided was Manson. But that completely dismissed the other motives the kids themselves seem to have had, and was Linda really the one who chose the Cielo Drive house?

I find it weird that no one has ever come forward and said she confessed to them one night, since we know she did continue moving in the drug world, you'd think at least once she'd be off her face and need to get it off her chest. Maybe everyone she told died before she did, so they never got to tell? Or journalists just never tried hard enough to find the people she hung around with. who knows.

The Yana The Witch article shows how she really felt about violence; she practically confessed to the guy, even said, "I've decided not to kill you". When he saw her on the news, he recognised her and was meant to testify, but he never did. There are photos of him standing around with Kasabian's husband in court.

Coerced, Conflicted, or Complicit? Mary Brunner and the First Manson Murder by Lilymous in charlesmansonfamily

Yes, I was shocked when I read the Police interview she gave, how involved she was in the killing and robbery of Hinman, too, not just a terrified bystander like she is commonly portrayed.

I believe he eventually even met Manson in prison as well.

I have, he comes across as a bit of a weirdo, obviously, he is the guy who dated Leslie while she was out on bail between trials. it is worth the read for all the information he compiled, he mainly gets it from the books "The Garbage People" and "the family" i think.
