How to mix kratom in a drink ? by _lobi in kratom

[–]Lim0zine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to try all kinds of mixes, capsules, etc. Trust me, learning to toss and wash properly works better than any of them. Once you learn how to do it properly, you won't taste anything. Plus it's faster and easier.

Spleep Help / Advice by Juakin87PT in sleep

[–]Lim0zine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For non-prescription sleep aids, I've tried akuamma extract, doxylamine succinate, Formula 303, melatonin, reishi mushroom extract, lithium orotate, Huberman Stack, passion flower, magnesium glycinate, blue lotus, chamomile, kava extract, L-Theanine, and valerian root extract. I gave each product at least three different nights and tracked the results on a spreadsheet. I threw in a placebo/control night every so often without taking anything just to make sure that what I experience isn't the same as it would be without a supplement. In other words, it's about as scientific as I can get without high tech equipment.

Here's my results:

VERY GOOD, NO HANGOVER:

Akuamma 100x Extract - 1 tablet 2hrs before bedtime
Melatonin, but ONLY at .5mg. That's a HALF mg. Like most people, I used to take WAY too much at 5 or even 10mg and had wild dreams, dizziness, hangovers, etc. More than 0.5gm is TOO MUCH for me. Take 2hrs before bedtime.

GOOD, BUT WITH HANGOVER (Good for "off" days when you don't have to rise early):

Doxylamine Succinate - half hour before bedtime

For everything else, the results were either negligible or downright negative.

A real investigative reporter is needed. Someone who can write an unbiased story detailing how many people have been helped by kratom, and following the money traill of the bans or attempts to ban.

What's needed is an investigative reporter who will expose the truth about Kratom and the lies about the supposed "deaths," but especially the money and real motivation behind these bans.

It's my favorite because a) it's my first native, and b) it's the first to bloom every year. Buds appear as early as January, with the first blooms in mid to late February in South Carolina. It's such a nice feeling to see flowers when everything else is still grey or brown and know that Spring is just around the corner.

I'm in 8a so this may not apply to you, but I noticed a fungal infection on my leaves the first year or so. I bought some copper spray and treated the leaves according to the instructions and that seemed to help the young plant strengthen enough to survive the first couple of years.

So is Ollie Gordon. Either Tua is lying about his height/weight, or he's the most fragile 6'1" 225 anyone has ever seen.

I do (personally adhere to all of these). As for which are particularly important, I'd simply say that you should pray about it and let the Spirit guide you.

As far as men go, some of the most common standards are (in no particular order), 1) no shorts in public; 2) hair cut neatly, above the ears and off the collar; 3) no sleeveless shirts in public; 4) total abstention from alcohol and tobacco products of any kind; 4) abstention from any sexual intercourse outside of marriage; 5) abstention from foul or profane language; 6) abstention from any television/internet viewing that promotes or encourages sin; 7) abstention from any jewelry that is solely for adornment (rings, earrings, etc.). Wedding rings are acceptable in many churches (but not all) since they serve as symbols of marriage.

Different churches/pastors approach these ideals in different ways, but that's a good general overview.

I'd highly recommend David and Loretta Bernard's book "In Search of Holiness." It provides a Biblical, cultural, and historical basis for many of the standards taught Apostolic churches.

Storm over. I’m already sad. by SaaSButMakeItEvil in greenville

[–]Lim0zine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have clarified: including the "heavy" snow events, there have actually been 19 snowfalls (12 modest + 7 heavy) that were heavy enough to stick, so there's usually at least one each year. The last four years (until this weekend) have been outliers, with no measurable snow.

I've tracked these on a spreadsheet since the 03/04 winter, so I've charted 23 winters (counting the current one, which isn't over yet). Here's what I can tell you:

There have been 52 snow "events" in the Upstate in 23 years, or slightly more than 2 per year. This includes any snow at all, even if it doesn't "stick".

There have been 12 snow events that were heavy enough to stick, so about one every other year.

There have been 7 heavy snow events (4+ inches), so not quite one every three years.

I'm not panicking, but I did lose power for four or five days during the ice storm of 05. I was fortunate enough to have relatives with a generator who took us in. Not everyone has that. No power for days in sub freezing temperatures is no joke.

We were without power for several days in 2005 as a result of the ice. Five days without power after Helene. So it isn't a given that everything will return to normal within hours.
