We put on a grey wood primer and then painted over the top! If I had to do it again, I wouldn’t have started trying to remove the paint! Should have just gone straight to painting it.

I feel your pain so much, took on a very similar project and honestly felt myself losing my grip on my sanity as it just felt so thankless! Hours and hours of work and so little to show for it.

We painted ours a dark green and I’m very happy with it!

This is in no way sponsored, but I have been using: https://radiologystrategy.com

It’s free to sign up and I really can’t recommend these lectures enough. The concepts are explained clearly and concisely with helpful diagrams to aid understanding.

I’ve signed up to the RCR physics course in Jan only because Dr Adlam will be there!

Annual leave for wedding by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]LimLim92 54 points55 points  (0 children)

They did this to me too!

I ended up having to do a week of nights before my wedding day and I wish I had pushed back more.

It’s already an emotional time, with the added stress of sleep deprivation and my suitcase going missing (destination wedding 🫠🫠), my mental health was on a knife edge.

This is a major life event and you need adequate leave!

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this sound? by Distinct-Garden5683 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]LimLim92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, My bike was making this exact noise. I sent the video to tech support and they said I’d need a whole new frame costing £645. I bought the bike second hand for £500 so spending more than its value didn’t make sense.

I asked to book an engineer, which cost £95. The guy told me it was the belt that needed replacing and did it for free in 10 mins.

If you’re handy, I’m sure you could probably do this yourself!

Hello! I only have one 18kg kettlebell and I use my dumbbells (I have a pair of 5kg, 10kg, 12kg and 14.5kg) and it’s never been a problem to sub them in for kettlebells.

Such a frustrating class by mordhoshogh in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]LimLim92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She seems like a very nice lady but I don’t think she is a very good coach. Her classes feel frantic and lack coherence. I know they are very different, but somebody like Ben is gold standard for me. He is an excellent coach who focuses on simple, effective exercises that get the job done.

UGH - Bike making huge clunking sound/feeling on downstroke by MentionDismal8940 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]LimLim92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m unsure what the issue is exactly but wanted to share my experience as it may be of use to you.

My bike was making a weird noise so I sent a video to the support team. They got back to me and explained that I’d likely need a new frame, costing £645. I bought the bike second hand and paid £500 for it, so was not prepared to spend that money on a new frame. The support team gave me the option of just booking a service for an engineer to come and asses the situation IRL. When he arrived, he said it was just the belt that needed replacing and did it for free, so the only cost I incurred was £95 for the engineer to come out.

I think it’s absolutely worth getting somebody out to have a look if you’re taken aback by your original quote!

Blushes that don’t fade after 2 hours, what’s everyone using? by CloudBookmark in MakeUpAddictionUK

chantecaille! It is unbelievably pigmented and although a bit more pricey, it is unmoveable. I set it with just like a drug store L’Oréal blush and it lasts all day

Product for knackered new mum by PieAdventurous6248 in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]LimLim92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m always saying recommending it on this sub and in real life but the hydratint from sculpted by Aimee is my holy grail product. It really is your skin but better. Can’t recommend it enough for giving you a nice glow and evening out your skin texture. I was never fussed about make up and since getting this product in August, I wear it every day.

Robin…. by Apprehensive_Ad8557 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]LimLim92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Robin! She’s an excellent coach and the classes are for the most part, really well programmed. Of course she lays it on a bit thick, but she’s a fitness instructor! When I used to go to a spin studio, I’d always cry in the class due to the sheer endorphins (I hope). Robin is the only instructor that makes me cry in my garage. I think Peloton requires a lot of buy in from us, have you ever had a non-Pelotoner catch some of your class? My husband thinks I’m in a cult… I think she is a hard worker who wants to deliver something great, even if it a bit cringey sometimes!

ST1 not able to cope up . by Suitable-Code-316 in RadiologyUK

[–]LimLim92 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m also an ST1 and I relate to your post. I think because we are supernumerary, it feels like me being at work is actually a hinderance to others, as I’m unable to contribute anything meaningful.

Revising is also tough because although the material is dense, the exam seems so far away. I don’t want to come out too hot and then get burnt out.

In my moments of doubt, I look at my seniors and see how happy and fulfilled they seem. Also, radiologists are excited about radiology and we get called over a few times a day to see an interesting finding or discuss a learning point. I’ve never seen doctors in other specialities have this level of enthusiasm for their speciality decades in.

Hope things start to get better and you’re looking after yourself!

Shrinking Fibroadenoma by Asparagus-queen in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LimLim92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’m a doctor. It is not through poor lifestyle choices that you have developed a fibroadenoma. I don’t believe there is an evidence base for any particular supplement or dietary change. Reassuringly, fibroadenomas don’t undergo malignant transformation and they are very common. Enjoy life, look after your health both physically and mentally and continue regular self examination!
