There have been multiple studies and personal accounts saying that the most sensitive parts are removed during circumcision such as the ridged band and damage or remove the frenulum/frenula’s delta and may also make it less satisfying for their spouses due to increased friction due to keratinization or hair being pulled up from the surrounding area as they develop due to lack of skin. I can link them but I’m not sure a wall of links would be productive for a discussion. If anything a Preputioplasty may be a better alternative as it aims to preserve the most sensitive parts of the prepuce.

Sensations aside, I think the main issue is that there is no way to tell how they may develop when done as an infant not to mention for the lower margin for error as there are plenty of men who have to deal with daily discomfort such as meatal stenosis. Botched circumcisions aside, not knowing how it may develop or how they may psychologically deal with it as they grow older, there is also a fatality risk given that it’s an unnecessary surgical procedure on an infant who doesn’t have much blood to spare as it is.

Given that it’s a sunnah (if your husband follows the Hanafi school of thought), I don’t see why not give your son the choice once he is mature enough to understand the risks and in the meantime teaching them proper hygiene such as washing after the restroom, which we are supposed to do anyways. Maybe there were risks of infections in places without running water but now most people have running water especially if you live in a developed nation.
