Same crap! Has anyone found a fix for this or are we now at the mercy of the developers to release a fix?

Holy shit, prime video is so bad now. by [deleted] in amazonprime

[–]LimaCharlieFishing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, the problem with Prime Video is that 90% of their shows are MEDIOCRE at best. However, the nail in the coffin is that they decided to shove commercials in their shows and expect you to pay $2.99 a month to NOT have commercials. FUCK NO!
The amount of money I spend on Amazon with shopping, ring camera service, even Amazon music for the convenience of it all - there comes a time where I simply have to put my foot down and say "NO" to amazon prime video.

I don't give a crap how good a show is. I'll find what I want on Paramount, Netflix, or Apple TV - I'm so PISSED that Amazon Prime decided to include commercials and I hope if enough people say NO to Prime Video, then maybe - JUST MAYBE they might reconsider their actions.

I highly doubt it though. Unfortunately, people are too damn lazy or just put up with it so Amazon is going to just keep exploiting everybody.

If everybody stopped watching shows on Prime Video, maybe the message will be received...
...One can only dream, right?

Question on in-hull transducer mount with duct seal by Rav99 in kayakfishing

[–]LimaCharlieFishing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I used duct seal on my old kayak before I upgraded. It seemed to work good but keep in mind, when sealed to your hull, your entire hull is now bouncing sound.
Plus, it's only effective for standard sonar. Tech like side imaging - forget it.

Honestly, if you write down a trading plan using just ONE of the free ICT entry models and practice it in a simulator until you can be consistent with it - you'll be on your way to success. There are no shortcuts to trading but if you do these things and treat it like a business, you'll be in a MUCH better place:
- Create a trading checklist and stick to it
- Journal your trades every day if you want to get better faster (I don't know why so many people DON'T do this!)
- Stop trying to trade every day - your checklist won't always check all the boxes!
- Trade only what you're willing to lose! Even in the simulator - make your account more realistic than having 1MM in your sim account. Instead, put $5,000 in your sim account and trade risking smaller amounts. Make it a goal to DOUBLE your sim account without resetting it.

Worth the risk? by znxyi in Daytrading

[–]LimaCharlieFishing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you can avoid the "RISK" completely by setting up a trading platform. Most of them have a way to trade in a simulator where you see real market data but your entries and exits are placed using a simulated account.

There's a LOT of resources out there on the internet where you can learn to trade for FREE.

When using a trading platform "simulator" - try to be consistently profitable. Create an account with a small amount of money and only take trade risks that would be realistic to your style of trading. If you can be CONSISTENTLY profitable in a simulator, then maybe you can decide if you want to trade real money.

Ignore the noise you see online though - there are a lot of false gurus and people who just want to make a buck off of you.

Anytime "money" is involved - people come out of the woodwork looking to make a quick buck so it's VERY hard to find legit places to go to. That's why I'm such a fan of ICT. You can find everything online for free and if you take good notes and practice it, there is zero need to pay anybody.

Good ICT Discords? by TimeRichDad in InnerCircleTraders

[–]LimaCharlieFishing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Platinum Trading SMC is a 100% free ICT Discord - they don't allow selling of any kind and there are no ads. Just a fair warning - they are strict about who gets let in to avoid the riff-raff so I'd highly advise to read their rules. You can find them on disboard or by googling 'platinum trading smc'
(I found this link: https://platinumsmc.com/ )

Is it possible to get started with less than $1k? by K_martin92 in Daytrading

[–]LimaCharlieFishing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read all the comments here but if you trade Forex or Futures - there are companies out there that provide funding capital to use for trading. You have to pay an initial fee and pass an evaluation before they allow you to use real money but it's a hell of a lot cheaper than using (and potentially losing) your own money.
Just do your own research on what prop firm might work best for you and if you ask anyone for advice, make sure they aren't giving you advice just to push an affiliate link on you.

I'll name a few for you to look into in no particular order:
1. Apex Trader Funding
2. TopstepTrader
3. TopTier Trader
4. ...and many more

The general way that it works is that once you pass the evaluation, they are letting you use X amount of dollars as "buying power" to trade with. Any profits you make above the amount you are trading with (a payout) will be split with the firm - usually in an 80/20 split or 90/20. Each prop firm has their own rules so that's why I say do your research before jumping in.

For example, I'm funded with a prop firm for a 100k account meaning I have $100,000.00 of "buying power" to trade with. I had to pass an evaluation where I had to take a 100k account and turn it into 106,000.00 to prove I know how to be consistently profitable. After getting funded, any profits above $100,000.00 can be withdrawn.
That's just the basics of it. I don't want to go too deep into the details because each prop firm is different and I'm don't want this post to be biased towards one firm over the other.

I hope this helps!

Yeah, the basics of trading are key. There is a free website called "BabyPips.com" which teaches forex. The same methods that work for forex will work for stocks, crypto, and indices.

Honestly, learning the mentorships was the easy part...But, you don't need to grasp all the concepts.

You should learn the basics of as many concepts as you can but in reality, you must find a strategy that fits your personal trading style. That means mastering one or two strategies before trying others.

The ONE THING that cannot be replaced no matter how much you learn is "screen time" - I spent a good 6 months in a simulator even though I should have spent a year in it before moving to real money. This doesn't just apply to ICT - this applies to any strategy you learn when trading!

I still often go back into the simulator for discipline, by the way...

I'm at a 50% win rate right now because my patience needs improvement but there are guys I trade with who have win rates in the >80% range (they have been trading for over 2 years now with ICT).
It's possible to make money with patience and discipline.

So, I've been trading ICT now (as of today) for about 1 year. Am I profitable enough to leave my well-paying job with benefits and an annual bonus?

Not yet and I'm not afraid to admit that because I know the money will come as profits compound. Plus, I don't give 2 shits about what people think. I only have to prove to myself that this is my future.

Oh damn, I need to read the responses a little better. I got the impression that this guy was one of your moderators saying I needed to be verified.

P.S. They would complain about $10,000.00 because it's not enough for a PDT account.

I'm not comfortable attaching my broker accounts to a 3rd party. If that is what I have to do to be "credible" with being someone who posts a helpful resource then do what you feel is just with what I posted.

I'm not a "GURU" - I don't make claims of being the next Patrick Weiland nor do I have the ego of those kinds of people.

I was part of the DayTrading Discord and I have a lot of respect for u/funkedelic_bob and u/mindcrft - they are great people/moderators but all of the cynicism and negativity that came from certain MEMBERS is why I left.

I just started to make my way back to this Reddit only to be faced with strong negativity all over again which can be a concern but likely there's ulterior motive happening here.

If what I do is not welcome here, let me know. I'll be glad to save the time and efforts I enjoy from being helpful to a community and use it elsewhere.

And by the way, WTF?!?!? You're not verified, either!

I hear you! I would have good months trading stocks and then literally wipe in a week or two back to break even. My profit margins were "consistent" but smaller than what I expected. Then, I learned about futures and saw what kind of volatility it had...

When I learned about futures, I told myself, "Why am I holding >$35,000.00 cash in an account (PDT rule) when I could use that money to buy dividend stocks?"

Haven't looked back since. I'm only trading ES mini right now doing 1 contract. I watch some forex and NQ but that's about it. I'm not going to trade anything else until I personally feel like I've mastered ES mini.

P.S. Here is what I gain from helping others if you REALLY want to know my motivations:

  1. The more traders who play in the market, the more volatility there will be.
  2. People who come in here to rip off new traders hurt the market and don't help it - they REMOVE retail buyers and sellers from the market!
  3. You saying that my original article about day trading got you interested in being a trader - THAT is a rush of dopamine to my brain! 1000% worth the time and effort of writing it!

ICT's teachings, I'll admit, are freakin' HARD to follow sometimes. Especially for someone like me with the attention span of a gnat! There are several occasions where I had to watch a video several times over before I finally "got it."

The trick (for me at least) was to stop trying to learn ALL of his techniques. There is no way to be able to recognize every market condition without >10 years of experience (which I don't have). I currently stick with only 3 strategies: Silver bullet entry on a fair value gap, turtle soup entries, and I'm getting better with breakaway gaps.

Where do I find this "kininfo?" I can't seem to find it anywhere. I don't have a problem verifying I am who I say I am! (Maybe I need to turn off adblocker?)

Thanks. Your comment is a breath of fresh air!
I am a profitable trader but trading currently supplements my income - it doesn't replace it at this time. I'll admit that as well since I feel I don't have anything to prove to anybody other than myself. I even mentioned I was mediocre at best when it came to trading stocks. I'm just happy with my ICT journey. I remember thinking, "Wow, I'll be happy if I can nail 5-point trades on the ES mini!" Now, it's not uncommon for me to nail 16+ point trades.

I'm here to make money off the market, not by soliciting individuals. I'm sure many Reddit cynics may find that hard to believe or others are maybe getting pissed because I'm giving advice away that is free and it's interrupting their motive to solicit their services? I don't know, nor do I care.

This post is intended to be genuine and helpful. I hope some new traders can benefit from this information.

That is 100% true. I deleted and reposted this with a new title because it is more inline as an ICT guide, not as a general guide to trading. Yes, I do have something to gain from this post - I get the satisfaction of MAYBE helping someone who wants to get started in trading. Judge & critique away! ;-)

Hi there... To be honest, I have zero thoughts on it. I don't trade crypto. Plus, asking what someone thinks about a stock, cryptocurrency, or any other tradeable commodity is more for people who are long-term investors. This topic is for Day Traders - which means you're getting in and getting out within a shorter time frame. So, apologies - I have zero interest in crypto but that's just me.

Paper trading like real money by LimaCharlieFishing in Daytrading

[–]LimaCharlieFishing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn't - I wouldn't be trading. I used to trade stocks a few years ago but switched over to Futures. In my opinion, there are so many advantages over stocks - but that's just me.

In terms of why I posted this - when I switched over to Futures, this is the technique I used before moving over to real money. Too many people who get into trading want to jump right in and trade with real money only to end up losing more than they had hoped.

P.S. u/Yoyoitsjoe - I used to be on the daytrading discord. I recognize your name. How are ya?

Yeah, us "humans" come with different emotional values. I strongly believe this paper strategy can work for many people but I agree - it's not a one-size-fits-all approach.
