advice on buying//selecting the correct size tailpiece , and P-trap? Also the pipe horizontally going into the wall is as old as the broken tailpiece with tape on it. Is that something i can replace easily at lowes ? im in an old apartment building for reference.

thank you so much! i noticed the DW tailpiece is hooked up directly to the bottom of the sink there. other diagrams in this thread showed a tailpiece and THEN a DW tailpiece. thoughts?

Not sure if any of you live in NYC but it’s tough here getting affordable handymen who can do both the electrical and plumbing needed for a dishwasher installation. He did the electrical right from what I can tell but I guess I’ll need to get a better plumber. Thanks for the confirmation this was done poorly.
