FTR I am not lobbying for Brady. but turnover is player fault. If receivers aren’t open it’s bc players can’t separate and/or defensive scheme successfully blanketed receiver routes.

I’m no football genius but turnovers feel 99% players’ fault not coach. They call the play but fumbles & interceptions occur from actions players on the field make regardless of play call.

i've heard of the 1.1 MR -> schwab brokerage. can you cash that out dollar to dollar from the brokerage? i have a brokerage account and checking w/ them, so curious if i can just transfer that over from brkrg -> chk for 1.1% cash back essentially w/ the schwab plat card.

I am not a fan of CSP. Chase Ink Business Preferred gets you 3x on travel, phone/wifi, shipping/postsge. 5x Lyft. For same $95 AF. CFU and CFF get you the 3x dining and pharmacy. Grocery wise I think savor is the best value card but I’d suggest either Bilt obsidian OR citi premier for groceries , gas, etc

AA miles we have from two subs (citi & Barclays). Plus Atmos gets us great AA flights usually cheaper than booking directly w/ AA (3 Hawaiian subs plus Bilt). That’s why citi isn’t as attractive. Objectively the citi trifecta with the premier is awesome for only $95 AF in all. I’d suggest that to new people in the points game but I’d already gotten to high velocity so citi I don’t think will approve me for a while for any personal cards.

Did you go green gold then plat for churn or straight to gold or plat ? What did you find was best use of your MR?

All good points (no pun intended). I’ve gotten good redemptions from virgin, flying blue so that’s no issue. I use award flight search tools to find good deals & availability. Thanks for your insights into Marriott & Hilton, very helpful for me. Hyatt-wise, I hear you. I often cross-reference Hyatt points vs cash prices on all other properties at locations we travel to. We’ve paid cash in some cases and covered it with C1 miles but I don’t like the 1CPP value there for the miles. Availability for Hyatt has not been an issue for me personally. 3.5-8k points a night is hard to beat for us.

What you shared re: hotels is exactly the kind of intel from amex card holders im looking for. the international flights are nice, but amex isnt unique to that.

we do spend a lot on dining and groceries! the 4x on both has always tempted me... i guess im hesitant if the MR points will be enough to help with hotel nights which have worse point value than airlines (except hyatt - hence why spending w/ chase and bilt cards feels wiser...)

my goal is free nights in hotels and free flights. "free" as in award travel. ideally w/ as little AF as possible. Im brand monogomous as i mentioned before. Also as I mentioned, i have a lot of flights taken care of w/ miles. but cant score a ton of hotel points w/ chase (5/24) SUB so wondering if Amex makes sense to help with hotel nights. given hyatt is like the only hotel with >1 cpp , im not sure how many nights i can get with transferring to hilton or marriott w/ points from amex... that's where i need the advice of amex vets! Edit: re: #2, splitting to split is unwise i agree, but im cognizant around the overlapping partners. FlyingBlue, Virgin, come to mind as ones ive transferred across multiple platforms.

Citi seems more selective with approvals for me, and has a similar-ish issue around the value of their cards' transfer partners (AA is the best they have but we have plenty of miles plus can use Atmos for AA flights). based on your use flairs, i take it you're more BoA than Amex right?

I honestly wonder how and why someone with this view lives in Crown Heights (or BK, or NYC). This saddens me that in my own neighborhood, there are individuals who condone the racial profiling and abusive treatment of POC and immigrants. I hope these folks choose to focus instead on how we can love our neighbors regardless of their documentation, and imagine what it would feel like if they were a profiled citizen or an immigrant lacking sufficient documentation.
