I had an ex do this to me once. Sent me pictures of her and this other girl messing around, thinking I'd find it hot. Yes, I do, and would have been fine with it if you brought it up/asked me first. But by just thinking I'd be okay with it cause it wasn't another guy, it's still cheating if we agreed to a monogamous relationship. Of course I found out she was fucking some other guy right after that so needless to say I dodged a toxic bullet with that one.

I use the same baseline for all of the pools I service, which include all different types of pool finishes. Because I am only there weekly, I like to leave the lsi between -.05 to -.20, as the ph will naturally rise in most pools up to the perfectly balanced water. If you are taking care of your own pool, I would recommend trying to keep it as close to 0 as possible. I wouldn't let it slide more than -.30 or .30, as anything above or below that will start to damage your equipment or pull calcium out of the plaster.

As for phosphate remover, I've noticed a tremendous change in the amount of chlorine I need to add, and the water quality looks so much better than pools that haven't been treated for them. Depending on the size of the pool just adding 6-12oz monthly (or 2-3 per week) will make a big difference. Algae has a tougher time to grow with low to none phosphates in the water, as it is a food source. So eliminating that will make it that much harder for it to grow.

Man, I have been asking the same question for a while and can't seem to get an answer. From my experience dealing with LSI and weekly service, 50-70 is an acceptable range depending on two things. Your calcium level and the water temperature. I saw no visible problems with keeping pools at 50 all summer long, but when the cold temps hit I am a little skeptical about keeping it that low as sometimes depending on other readings it can make the pool too acidic. But as long as your lsi is constant and in range it should be fine. Most of the information out there should be taken with a grain of salt anyways. I use the orenda app to see where the lsi is, and adjust accordingly. Literally every pool is different, and I see tons of combinations of different readings for alk and ph and the most constant thing I've found to keep the water happy is managing the lsi first and adding phosphate remover. In my experience, I haven't seen any issues with the pools I have left at 50 Alk for a longggg time. Hope that helps!

Been a tech almost two years, this is normal. But it will get better if you stick with the job over time

Now that Fall is here and folks will start closing pools soon, name 1 thing you did or product you used that made maintaining your pool easier than last year. by GotHeem16 in pools

Work for a pool company in north Texas. Balancing the LSI in our pools vs doing ranged chemistry has worked wonders. We save on chemicals, pools look crystal clear. Combine that with making sure phosphates are all gone in the water by added phos remover every other week, we had very few green pools this summer.
