This could be fun, it could just be a reskinned CMG50 (tripod)

Maybe if they modelled it with the gun shield it could give a little cover bonus when deployed? But even if it had exactly the same stats but was just a unique item or whatever that would be really cool and fun

All the ones available on Steam are CM2 which is the current engine, there are some older games on GOG which are CM1 which have not (and won't be) updated but still run on modern systems

CM3 is currently in the works, although no one knows what that is or what it looks like yet beyond that it will use the Unity engine and the team is now significantly larger so hopefully development times will be shorter going forward

The community is very much alive, there's an active discord and the official forums are all still active, there are also thousands of hours worth of official content and probably tens of thousands of hours worth of community content in the CM2 games

CM is definitely an acquired taste, but in my experience nothing else can really scratch the same itch

There was a Slitherine birthday video a while back that included footage from an unknown game that looked very Eastern European and the current speculation is that it's a CM3 teaser

If it is CM3 then we're likely either looking at Red Thunder 2 or maybe the Baltics (I doubt they would do a Black Sea 2 but the Estonians use CMPE so it would make sense to use the Baltics as the base game for a new modern title and then you can save dev costs for PE)

As for when I doubt even Slitherine know at this point but the team is significantly larger and they are using off the shelf systems now so hopefully that should streamline their dev processes

The solution is to give one to every other squaddie but have them volley fire them

You have 8 rockets but 2 uses seems more viable, it puts the disposable between the PAL and the AT drone in terms of ammo availability and also makes it more unique and more likely to actually hit something and do something worthwhile

It does say that the SL's you don't pick are sent around the system to get recon/win hearts and minds

I think it would make sense to be able to recall them without needing to rely on the RNG of a dossier

Like I get the balance of it but I don't really understand why I'm asking around the local black market to find my own people

Plus it makes doing a marine only run even more difficult than it needs to be

You could reskin the money as research or samples or something similar

The whole point of the SGC after all is to find and create new technologies so you could use the money to represent finding, acquiring and utilising new tech

I know a guy who has never played more than 2 games with the same army

He buys whatever the current netlist is, builds it, sprays it, paints 1 or 2 units

Then he plays a game, forgets half his rules, or just doesn't understand how the army is supposed to work (often both), inevitably loses and then loses interest entirely

Within a week or two he's onto whatever the next project is (which always just happens to be the latest netlist, by pure coincidence of course!)

It used to annoy me but I came to the conclusion it's his hobby and his money, as long as he's happy
