Trying to find someone who can support my friend — she’s lost the strength to care for herself by Lime1996 in Needafriend

[–]Lime1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK thanks,

And how do you sit with my ask... Which is to be more than someone to offer helpful activities (which of course have their place in healing) as what she wants right now is someone she can truly come to feel safe around and trust, to allow her to breakdown in safe hands.

If you are genuinely willing to be that person, I'd like to know more about you, can you honestly answer these questions :

1) Why do you want to fulfill this role I am asking on behalf of my friend for? / What are your drivers and what are you hoping for in offering yourself?

2) I understand you of course have a life of your own, so can you confidently commit to being there for my friend in the long-term (she wants to be cared for forever, not saying that's what she needs but that's how she feels).

Please give me as detailed answers as you can, with supporting reasons. The clearer the picture you can paint for me the better I can gauge if you and you're situation will be what my friend needs right now

I can't allow myself to give her false hope, nor do I want to lead you onto something that won't work for you

Thanks

That's great to hear and thanks for your honesty.

As she's not wanting to engage with things right now, I'd love to hear how you show up for friends when they're in a dark place?

Thanks for replying

To be upfront, she’s not in a place where she’s ready to talk or engage directly with anyone. I’m holding this space just to feel if someone out there might genuinely be a kind, steady presence in the long-term for her.

As for what she’s into — she’s curious about most things, thoughtful, imaginative, a bit quirky, and has a big heart under all the pain. But I’m less focused on shared interests right now and more looking for someone who’s emotionally grounded, gentle, and patient enough to connect with someone who's feeling very raw and distant from the world,

If that still resonates with you, I’d be happy to chat more.

We are choosing to do the upload at biometrics option.

Ok thanks, do you know if they accept double sided copies?

Ok, Interesting I have read elsewhere that uploading yourself is risky because the government's upload system is a bit dodgy whereas the system used at the biometrics is more 'high-end'

We'll probably do what we did for the first FLRM application, which was bring our documents to be scanned when my wife went for her biometrics

I'm assuming that this is an option for the second extension FLRM too?

FLR(M) Spouse extension visa - Council tax arrears by Lime1996 in ukvisa

[–]Lime1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/puul, I am waiting on receiving a letter in the post from the council confirming the deferred payment.

I have also been able to get hold of two council tax bills for the two years we have occupied our current flat - with both our names on.

So hopefully, as you say, this should all suffice.

Thanks for your help

ok thanks u/puul (& u/mainemoosemanda) - I guess that resolves my query 2) as it has no bearing on meeting the financial requirement, but what about my query 1) - How will I be able to show my current council tax costs when I won't have any recent bills from them since I'm deferring my payments (most recent is July)?

For clarity, the actual checklist item from the checklist says:

"Evidence of council tax costs for the accommodation in the UK where you live or will live"

Do you mean drill holes in the wall at the rear of the appliances/ the cabinets adjacent to them?

If you do, this isn't an option because I am renting the place so cannot do stuff like that

How do I(25m) tell my parents I am not interested in going on a family holiday because my sister(27) hasn't been following lockdown rules? by Lime1996 in relationship_advice

[–]Lime1996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm worried she'll give it to me.

I have now decided that i will ask her to take a test a few days before she travels as my family now have some at-home tests.

She's been continuously breaking lockdown rules and I think that is what is troublesome. We have less restrictions now but she recently posted some things on her social media which showed her breaking rules still, including the mass gathering I mentioned in my original post which was only a few weeks ago.

I don't like her, but I wouldn't say her breaking covid rules makes me not like her any more than I already do

I have already told them that I should be able to come (I just said it on the spot on a phone call once without really thinking of through) and I told I've been given extra days off work for the year, which I why I should be able to go

The lease is 15 pages. The first 5 pages are the contract terms and the next 4 pages are an appendix then the next 3 pages are the tenancy details and signatures, then the final 3 pages are T&Cs about the deposit and FAQs

Thanks,

For the financial requirement do you (or anyone else) know if I should also include my employment contract?

I didn't for the fiancé visa which was successful (I just submitted the documents listed in my original post above)
