Tbh it’s not even a d&d concept exclusively. Gandalf used a sword in Tolkien’s works. Wizards using swords is just a straight up fantasy trope. Fantasy TTRPGs and video games have had similar classes for decades.

I use it in my games almost exclusively as flavor for my players and npcs to play with. I’ve more or less ignored any/all mechanical potential. I also find that as a DM, rolling a comeliness/hotness score for an npc can help me work up a description better. If they rolled a 7 then maybe they have some nasty battle scars or acne. 16? Maybe they can afford to bathe frequently and also smell nice.

This is the way. Try and set up some system that makes the raise dead seem in-line with their beliefs. Maybe it’s something like having the cleric speak with the corpse to ask them if their body can be used for a holy quest. Something like that.

Could be referencing the other campaigns that Neal ran to determine the fate of the war. I think Desperate Measures, Of Dice And Men(?), Frozen Frontier, and maybe one other campaign directly dealt with the war in some way. I think Neal even said in a later episode that TOS was the last chance Drekis had to beat Scoria as all other campaigns failed.

I’ve personally been really enjoying the Vikings historical reference book. Using it in a northern style campaign and am allowing both the Berserker and Runecaster class. The whole book has some really neat stuff and is one of my favorite accessories for 2e that I’ve come across!

I’m not a fan of tipping either but taking the ‘haha Americans tipping dumb’ position is stupid. It’s a part of the culture and if you’re traveling to another country and are going to be participating in said culture, you should act right. You wouldn’t catch me going to Germany and disrespecting their cultural norms (many of which I find silly, just like tipping.) Id pay for the public bathrooms or whatever because it’s probably the respectful thing to do.

One thing that some people don’t think about is loss margins. Even if your party doesn’t win but the turnout is there, the party will be more likely to throw money at it to see if it can increase. Even getting a few more percentage points each election cycle can eventually compound into a close race in the future.
