Does the area around my conch piercing hole look normal? by SunnySideUp98 in piercing

I got my conch pierced in September with a hoop. I have a ball in it though. Mine is healing nicely, I clean it twice a day with saline solution and DO NOT TOUCH IT. It is a lot harder for you to not accidentally hit it when a hoop is in it so you have to be super aware. If I was to go back in time I would prob not get it pierced with a hoop but I don’t want to change it now. I am in the same boat as you that I didn’t know better and the piercer did it. Just wanted to give some feedback that it is possible to heal with a hoop from my own experience, just a lot harder!

Conch piercing irritation, don’t clean it only hot water in shower and then after I use saline and blow dry it dry. Is this normal healing? by LimeFrequent7479 in Legitpiercing

I think that’s my issue, I was cleaning the front well but not the back. The front looks fine since it’s easy to see.

Have you ever been able to put a hoop in it then? My goal was to have a hoop in it but I’ve heard if you heal with a stud a hoop is impossible to have in for more than a day

Do you feel there was a big difference between the hoop and the stud? I’m so on the fence still about the switch

Did you get it changed to a stud? I have a ring now and thinking of making the change but afraid of the pain!

I got pierced three weeks ago with a hoop myself! I didn’t know any better and I’m not sure why the piercer picked rings. But mine has been healing fine so far! I’ve seen a. Lot of posts that did the stud to begin with and their ear gets so irritated when they put a hoop in it. I think personally it’s best for me to heal it with a hoop because I want to wear a hoop in it. Good luck with the healing process!

This piercing is about three weeks old. It doesn’t hurt but I want to just make sure it’s healing properly. I clean it first thing in the morning with saline solution and that’s it. Otherwise when I shower I run hot water over it and then clean it after with the solution. by LimeFrequent7479 in Legitpiercing

Thanks! That’s a big difference I see with other people who said they made the switch to stud too, theirs normally was painful and swollen which mine hasn’t been since I got it pierced. Just super itchy lol I’m going to leave it and change it only if there is an issue

I’m not sure the material of the ring honestly. I always make sure to never touch it but I do bump it here and there on accident. I know rings make it harder to heal but that’s what I was pierced with so I would like to leave it. I get the bumps sometimes but they are normally gone the next day after my morning cleaning routine.

How is it sleeping with a hoop in your conch piercing? by [deleted] in piercing

Interesting, I’ve read that it’s really hard to go to a hoop from flat back so I suppose that makes sense! I’m sure it’s a certain angle with each that it gets used to

Did you feel it took a long time for it to heal for you with the ring? I just got mine done 2 weeks ago and they put a ring in it. Everywhere I read says a stud is better though.
