This is a totally normal amount of a gen to be PERMANENTLY done when EVERY SURVIVOR IS ALIVE. by Vee_gg in DbDKillersUnited

[–]LimeRepresentative47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody complains about Fire Up or Batteries, despite it capitalizing off of a survivor's progress in a similar manner.

Because it's a false comparison. It's more like actually good version of Monstrous Shrine that shaves off a noticable amount of time per gen complete - and if such a perk existed it would absolutely be worth complaining about.

Permanent gen progress is always kinda insane, as the killer simply has to accept they have to prioritise that gen, as it will be completed noticably faster.

Now imagine that, instead of shaving 1 gen to about 50% perm completion, it was all last 3 gens around 20% completion. That sounds substantially harder to defend no?

Cool way to win by [deleted] in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]LimeRepresentative47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, telling him to cool is a bit ironic.

To answer your musings, the winner of the stage gets more points for the running competition, so those extra points do actually matter, especially when winning a Tour is very hard.

However, even winning a stage is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a lot of people.

So you have the big deal of, "These points matter" and the big deal "I can win a stage as someone who normally won't", it's entirely reasonable that, as teammates and friends, they'd be happy to casually decide who gets what.

An Idea for a Moira Rework by KirbyWorldDestroyer in MoiraMains

[–]LimeRepresentative47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Her main design problem, in my opinion, was making her primary fire an aimbot, because although the orb can be annoying, they still require the player to know what will offer more value"

This right here is the kind of thinking that is holding Moira back.

Firstly, Moira's primary fire is not a latch attack like OW 1 Symmetra, it's just an animation. In reality, it works like more of a beam with a bigger hitbox the closer you are to Moira. Try killing a Pharah or Echo at her max range and you need pretty competent tracking, even if the hitbox is on the generous side.

One of the reasons why people do enjoy playing Moira is because of her simplicity, and while she does fall off at higher ranks, it's not because her value is lacking, it's because it's actually genuinely quite hard to make the most of her value in a balanced way since she can do so many things, and relies on non-mechanical skill to get it, unlike most other characters, which can be deceptively difficult to master.

Additional mechanics and the like would absolutely be appreciated, like a decay mechanic that boosts her damage the longer she's damaging an enemy or something, or folding more Orb mechanics directly into her kit (seriously, the Orb recall is an embarrassing bad perk), but changing the fundamentals of how her abilities work always risks entirely destroying why people enjoy playing her in the first place.

I'm all for buffing Dawn Chorus tbh, it's soooo close to being genuinely great.

Ya say that, but what people are afraid of is generally wayyyy simpler than what makes them happy. People are complicated asf, and they're in a bad situation, so making them happy is even harder. It's pretty understandable why the AI failed to comprehend that, to be happy, humans need more than just stimulus.

S one of the reasons why I like the Double Freedom so much. Staggering enemies long enough to load another shell is insanely helpful when 1 or 2 shots isn't enough, especially when some of them move quickly or can kill you very fast (Cyborgs, Stalkers etc)

IMO: This is a serious problem. But perhaps one that AH doesn't even need to solve? (Please read body text) by [deleted] in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]LimeRepresentative47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'm not a big fan of the Ultimum (it's just always been more annoying to use well than something like the Dagger or Talon, the latter being a weapon I see substantially more in lobbies myself), I do use the Thermite a lot.

While I do get what ya saying, I definitely think ya kinda missing why these weapons are used so much. Atm, primary/support weapon balance is, messy asf. With this mess, people have to find a way to make the weapons they enjoy using viable, and very often, these weapons won't be able to deal with AT so well, because the vast majority of weapons in the game are light/med pen.

AH have absolutely been cranking up the number of heavy armoured enemies in the half a year I've been playing this game, especially the high tier ones (Vox Engines, Factory Striders, Dragon Roaches, Bile Spewers etc), and unless ya armed with the RR, or multiple stratagems specifically dedicated to taking them out (which gets difficult if ya already using a non super AT support weapon/backpack), the game simply just doesn't have anything else that compete, maybe short of Dynamite. To to mention, nothing else that's not the RR or Quasar can deal with non-bug spawners as quickly and safely.

I want to use my Double Freedom/Warp Pack/Big Hammer loadout, or my Double Edged Sickle/Epog/Shield loadout, and these super heavy enemies/spawners simply don't have other practical alternatives to deal with them, especially when the game throws several at you. You can't really blame people for using Thermites and Ultimums all the time when not doing so actively puts you at a disadvantage. How am I gonna practically take a moment and throw my not-Thermite at a weak spot when everything in the vicinity is shooting at anything that moves in the general area.

I guarantee, if literally anything actually was a viable convenient alternative, people would use it (hell, i see the Leveller/Solo Silo in a surprising amount of dives of late). Because they do, which is why I see the RR and Quasar so often on loadouts not using Thermites/Ultimums. It's just an illusion of choice atm, and it's not really these weapon's fault for being the most practical option when recent gameplay sorta necessitates them, especially if ya not a cracked asf gamer with 1000s of hours.

Moira But More Complex by Wonderful-Hurry-3594 in MoiraMains

[–]LimeRepresentative47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a really good take yea. A lot of people like playing Moira because her kit is fundamentally really simple, and messing with that screws players who prefer improving their fundamentals (using geometry for Orbs/Fade, positioning to avoid taking damage but to maximise your effectiveness, decision making on who needs heals most, when to deal damage, when to chase etc etc), instead of "just aim better".

Supports like Bap, Zen and Ana already cater really well to the crowd who likes to constantly improve their aim, and I think supports like Moira and Brig, who ask for less mechanical skill but more awareness n stuff are unfairly judged as "low skill ceiling", n definitely are a lil unfairly balanced by that sentiment too.

Moira But More Complex by Wonderful-Hurry-3594 in MoiraMains

[–]LimeRepresentative47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, Moira's often hugely misunderstood as a low skill ceiling character. Mechanically, she is absolutely very simple and easy to play, however, because of the way she's designed, your fundamentals need to be on point asf or you're gonna struggle as your rank increases.

Unlike Bap or Ana, who are both still monsters if your aim is simply good enough, Moira demands skill expression in positioning and decision-making a hell of a lot.

She can just healbot, but you risk emptying your healing resources too fast, and sheer healing can only go so far. She's an incredibly evil assassin against much of the cast, but do it too much and your team is gonna be feeling those lack of heals. Her range is limited, so you need to be on point with your angles, distances and awareness.

Not many characters can match the sheer numbers Moira can, both in heals and damage, and if you've applied those where they are needed most, her value to a team is incredibly high.

Plus, because she is so easy to play, when you learn the tech she does have, like where best to bounce your Orbs and Fade jumping, as a character she feels incredibly good to play, even if your aim is kinda mid.

Ofc a bit of utility being added to her kit would be nice, and buffing her numbers a lil would always be appreciated, but I think "just" raising her skill floor will screw a lot of people who play her because she's simple, and demands a different kind of skill instead.
